Two men are charged with felony reckless conduct for allegedly firing a gun on West Road in Temple about 3:30 a.m. yesterday, state police said.
Timothy Keene, 32, who lives in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, Mass., and David McIntyre, 27, of West Road, Temple, are scheduled to be arraigned in Jaffrey-Peterborough District Court on the charges.
No one was hurt.

As a former resident of Temple, I have to say...wow! At first I thought, yup redneck! Then I read what was happening...Temple police do such a great job at.....? The fact that it took so long to get a response is just disgraceful. I'm glad I moved! Such a rural area, same os Mont Vernon!

Great, thanks to the commenters for clarifying a confusing story. Definitely stupid and inconsiderate at the very least, and if they were drinking, downright dangerous.

The gunshots lasted for over two hours and there is no reason whatsoever for anyone to be firing a gun like that in the middle of the night. There were several rounds shot off at a time and it woke up many households who were frightened due to what they were hearing. Many of my neighbors target shoot and that is fine, but don't do it at that time of day. The men were also reportedly drunk, hence the felony charges. It took several calls to 911 to even get the state police to come to Temple and that is completely inexcusable!

As vague as this article is, it does say that they were "firing a gun ON West Road". It is illegal to fire a gun within 100 yards of a road or occupied structure. The definition of felony reckless conduct is:
631:3 Reckless Conduct. –
I. A person is guilty of reckless conduct if he recklessly engages in conduct which places or may place another in danger of serious bodily injury.
II. Reckless conduct is a class B felony if the person uses a deadly weapon as defined in RSA 625:11, V. All other reckless conduct is a misdemeanor.

This woke up our family Sunday morning. I started at 2:15 and did not end until 4:30 when the police FINALLY arrived. There were probably over 100 rounds fired. I am not against guns but this was excessive at 2:15 in the morning and by intoxicated individuals nonetheless!

Any more details? Were they taget shooting with a proper backstop, or were they just shooting around every-which-way? Why does this merit a felony charge as opposed to, say, disturbing the peace? 3:30 am does seem to be a weird time to be shooting, but I've target shot in the dark with the aid of headlights before (in a known safe area away from residences, that is).

Yo, Gus! Did you notice that the shots were fired at 3:30 AM???? It's called "disturbing the peace", bro. Normal people discharge firearms legally all the time in places like Temple, they just have the brains to do it in the daylight.

Hmmmmm...... illegal to fire a gun in the town of Temple. How long till its illegal to own a gun ?

Jamaica Plain. Lovely neighborhood. As I've said, they are leaking up here, more every day...
