The comments about NHIS "losing its ties" to Nascar if Bob Bahre sells to Roush Fenway and John Henry seem a little bit too alarmist. It sounds like Roush Racing will be involved in the deal and no one has closer ties to Nascar than Roush.

I have faith in the Bahre Family that they will not do anything to hurt the races and the fans in the area of Loudon. I have attended alot of races there and will in the future and thier concern is for us. My feeling is they will not sell without our concern in mind. Bruton Smith does not deserve to have NHIS with what he did with the "destruction" of North Wilkesboro Speedway. Both races sell out here in NH, why should we move a race to another track that doesn't? I know money talks, but I don't feel that to the Bahre's that is all that is important.
- Mary Sargent, Keene

I have respect for Red Sox ownership, but I have even more for the Bahre family. I fear that non-racing people owning the track will be a huge mistake. Perhaps the Bahres are looking at an exit strategy, but if they sell to the Red Sox the ties NHIS has forged with NASCAR will loosen and perhaps break. Cup races are awarded year-to-year by NASCAR and there's no guarantee that under new ownership the track would retain its two races. Of course, who would buy the track with that risk? Sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you don't. In that respect, it might be better for the Bahres to sell to International Speedway Corp and thus have a better chance of holding onto its dates, than to sell to the Red Sox and risk losing one or both. NHIS dies a quick death without those July and September dates.
- Chris, Brookline

What is surprising here is that most people expected International Speedway Corp (the France family) would acquire NHIS, given the long term friendship between both the Bahre and France families. The important issue here is not who owns the facility, but what happens to one of the Cup races the track is almost certainly to lose not long after the sale is completed.

With all of these recent stories about the Massachusetts influx into New Hampshire (renaming the Manchester Airport, widening 93 to open the gates for an increased Mass Migration Movement, a Red Sox owner possibly purchasing a NH NASCAR track, the Mass Migration Movement causing the end of "Live Free or Die" as we know it......do you think it's possible that we may need to consider changing the "The State of New Hampshire" to "The State of Massachusetts-New Hampshire Region" or "North Massachusetts"???
