Bradly,
26 USC 1 determines how much one pays in taxes if one is filing in a particular way. I don't see where it states every United States citizen is required to pay federal income tax. . .

In addition, I am tired of people demanding to know the law that requires them to pay taxes.
It is VERY easy to find.
26 USC 1 - Tax imposed.
Google it!

Ron Paul likened the Browns to people like King Jr., who bring attention to what some consider injustices within government policies and protest it.
Let's face it to get our elected reps to do what's right sometimes we have to protest and raise cain sometimes.
The Brown's have only said they would defend themselves and their property if IRS agents and the like come with military style weapontry to kill them.
The Brown's have asked authorities to show the law that require's them to pay and they would pay.
As far as their conviction look at the case it was illegal the way they handle this case to begin with. Whose the lawbreakers?
To me the problem is not a few tax evaders like the Browns that is the problem, the problem is the ungodly amounts of money spent on unconstitutional government by our elected representatives.
When are they going to be held accountable to the rule of law?
- Davy C Rockett, Seattle WA
These people are insane. To me, there's nothing more unAmerican than a few rebellious individuals standing up to the government and deciding not to pay unreasonable taxes--they even have the gall to say say that they are willing to defend themselves by exercising their right to keep and bear arms!
These people should be drug out of their home by police in Darth Vader riot suits, the drawn and quartered for their treasonous actions against King George!
The Founders would have never supported such anti-authoritarian tactics.
It's like these people have chosen to either live free or die... or something insane and unAmerican like that...

Ron Paul did not exactly say that the Browns were compared to Gandhi or MLK, they were for peaceful protests. The problem with the Browns is that they are ready to use violence. Ron Paul had to clarify this on Fox yesterday.
Watch the interview, it is near the end of part 1. I have listened to it several times. Ron Paul tends to ramble a little when he tries to say everything at once. He does not say the Browns, he is referring to those that peacefully protest the IRS and our monetary systems.

Ditto Roy & Tyler-
Remember Ron has no idea who the Browns are, or their history or much else about them except that they're bucking the system and thus far have committed an act of non-violence.
For Katz, the Concord Monitor, AP or any other news outlet to say he is a 'supporter' is patently false.
- Nathan LaHue, Concord, NH
I have to agree with Roy. Apparently you didn't watch Ron Paul on Fox News today. He said that disobeying an unjust and unfair law is not wrong. However, he explicitly said HE DOES NOT CONDONE VIOLENCE AND THAT THE BROWNS SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE CONSEQUENCES.
- Tyler Stearns, Thornton
Congressman Ron Paul's comments comparing the Browns to Ghandi and Martin Luther King Junior are abhorrent and despicable. He should be ashamed of himself.
He went on national news (Fox) on 06/26/07 and supported these petty criminals choice to not follow the democratic system we have established by advocating "civil disobedience."
What a sorry excuse for a presidential candidate. I look forward to the day when the Browns are sitting in their federal jail cell and Paul is thrown out of the presidential race.
- Bradley Jardis, Hooksett, NH
This is a classic example of a media hit piece. Its basically 3 sentences with no facts to back it up. If this is what passes for journalism I am very sorry for your publication. Hers a scoop for you: Paris Hilton supports Gay congressman for Pres. Your story could be total speculation and you can post it to all the usual outlets where this kind of trash flies as "great investigative journalism". Ron Paul Revolution.
