Knowing the driver of the truck I would say she was cut off and is verry emotional over the accident and for anyone to assume it was her fault should ask the state police who's fault it was. While I do feel very sorry for those who lost a loved one, try to keep in mind that the driver of the truck is lucky her and her 2 year old daughter are still alive and are not the "mureder" some make her out to be. Emergancy or not NEVER use the cross over.

Thank you J. simpson for pointing out the inappropriate timing of Sara and Gary's comments. Her death was an accident, plain and simple. The circumstances of the accident are not what they appear. I'm sure that the finalreport will be much different from the intial report.
Its obvious neither of them knew her. For if they did, they would have known that she was part of a large and loving family. She was one of eight children and the mother of six, whom she raised singlehandedly after the death of her husband.
May her memory be eternal.

Gary Paradis, we'll be sure to let the late Ms. Whitman know that she may be on the hook for a fine. And Sara from Concord, we'll pass along to her your suggestion to wait until the next exit next time.
You may want to re-think making such comments in a public forum. Your points may be valid, but they won't help Ms. Whitman's family & friends in their time of grief. Quite the opposite, in fact.
To anyone else, some friends & I would like to send flowers to the funeral home that is helping with the arrangements, and/or contribute to any charity that Ms. Whitman was particularly fond of. If you have information about either of these, please email me at jamie2@fastmail.fm. Thank you.

Barbara was one of the most loving wonderful people you could ever meet. She will be missed tremendously.

Please refrain from making comments about an accident that has not been fully investigated. She was not the type of person to do this without care of others. Barbara was a very sweet lady that will be welcomed into heavan and will be missed here on earth. God Bless you Aunt Barbara!

Barbara was a wonderful, loving human being and so involved in her church and in helping the community. She touched the lives of many.

Knowing the deceased, I feel she may have had a medical emergency and wanted to get back home.

This is such a tradgedy. People should know that there is also a pretty hefty fine for using these cross overs.

May God rest her soul.

I see people attempt this crazy stunt all the time. It's a recipe for disaster. Please wait until the next exit and turn around.
