I am a lifelong Republican, a Marine Vietnam veteran, a Christian, a gun owner, etc., etc. I value integrity above all else. John McCain may not be the ideal conservative, but he is a leader. I think it is time to put ideology aside and consider the future, because the survival of our country is at stake. McCain has proven again and again that he is a man of courage and integrity. In today's world, everything else has become secondary.

The only negative people can come up with on Senator McCain is the age issue. What happened to age is only a number, and talk of returning respect back to the White House, definitely is not with another Clinton. To any voter that votes on Honor and Integrity not just a party, the only choice is Senator McCain. He stands for everything American, and has the record to prove it.
- Rene, Sandown

Sen. McCain's problems are ones that he is very familiar with by now: he is not trusted by true die-hard Republicans, the ones who burn with partisan pride in GOP power and hate all things to do with the Democrat party. The true GOP operative doesn't believe that McCain is partisan enough. McCain shows too much willingness to compromise and make nice with moderates. McCain doesn't go "all in" in the bare-knuckles fighting in Washington. He is too willing to give up GOP advantages like soft money; he is too willing to try to make deals on wedge issues like immigration. In short, he is a GOP wuss. His strength has been among moderates and independents who don't like partisan politics. This election cycle, his hard-edged "no surrender tour" has caused support amongst the middle to evaporate. In short, he is a politician with no base to draw from, aside from perhaps veterans groups. No majority of support in the GOP plus dwindling support amongst independents means that he is doomed to fail.
- Stephen Boyington, Chester

McCain is most experianced, Romney is most political, Guiliani is most successful, Thomspon is most conservative. Who do you want? Commenting on Clinton: She is disingenuine, as Obama states, buys the public votes, as McCain implies, and promises very very high taxes, as Romney indicates. Guiliani thinks she is a fraud as does Thompson. Even Ron Paul knows she is NOT the one you want. Any clear thinking American would know that change for America is NOT voting for another Clinton. How much more simple do you need?
- Jack, Concord, NH

To those undecided NH republicans out there...give Sen. McCain a close look. He speaks with a sincerity that is uncommon in politicians and he is the only viable candidate in the field that will be able to defeat Hillary.
