Losing the occasional assistant coach or DC never worried me. It was the system. Losing McDaniels is no problem, just like Weiss, Crennel and Mangina. BBioli was still in control.

BBioli is no longer. BB is still here, but Pioli left, breaking up BBioli for the short term. This is the beginning of the end for this fine run over the past decade. Half the brain has been removed. It will be only a matter of time before BB leaves New England to rejoin Pioli, in a reduced role.

BBioli was one of the greatest leadership tandems in sports history - period.

This article is junk. Every quality news service was reporting McDaniels' age to the day and how he was the 5th youngest head coach in NFL history, right there with Madden and Shula. And yet this writer finds it 'mysterious' because he can't figure out the obvious?

And, the reason the 'mysterious' Belichick took over the QB coaching responsibilities is because Dick Rehbein, the QB coach, died.

Belichick runs the show. He makes the Damien Woody's and David Givens' of the league look like All Pros. He also made Weis, Crennel, Mangini and Parcells into highly regarded coaches. What have ANY of them won without him? ZIP.
