A Harvard Street resident was slightly injured last night when he fought with two men who forced their way into his home.

Neighbors said they heard a couple of gunshots around 10 p.m. and saw two people dressed in black running out of 627 Harvard St. Sgt. Kristen Taylor said there were differing reports on the number of shots fired but police only confirmed one gunshot.

Alan Gaudet, 44, who lives on the second floor of the building, suffered minor injuries in the home invasion and was treated at a local hospital, police said. Taylor said he was not shot.

Two men dressed in dark clothing and wearing ski masks forced their way into Gaudet's apartment, according to investigators. One fired a handgun while the other may have had a knife. Gaudet's wife and two kids were home at the time but were not hurt.

Witnesses said they saw two people dressed in black run out the front door of the home and head to the rear alley.

One neighbor said a resident, armed with a snow shovel, ran outside screaming. He was bleeding from his forehead, the neighbor said.

"He was screaming like hell. That's why I came outside," the neighbor said.

No one has been arrested.

One of the intruders is described as a black male, 5-foot-8 to 6-feet tall, with a skinny build wearing a gray or dark ski mask, dark or gray sweatshirt and dark pants. The second intruder was a black male, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, also wearing a ski mask, dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.Detectives continue to investigate and ask anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information to call the Detective Division at 668-8711 or Manchester Crimeline at 624-4040.
