What a bunch of fools out there! They all think this type of crime is ok if they are Republicans. Why do the extreemist have to turn every thing into a Democratic attack?
- Pete, Manchester
WOW! The Democrats are really sticking it two the Republicans. Between this six year old case of stupidity on the part of two low level no-bodies to the ground breaking journalistic work of the New York Times smearing the good name of Senator McCain with an eight year old case of NOTHING!.... thier really playing hardball................Shear genius.
- Anthony, Troy
Yes, two low level GOP operatives did do a small amount of time. The question before the House, is whether or not their illegal activities were part of a larger conspiracy by the GOP and the White House. For this second and far more important question, due process has not been served.

Let's review: Two officials actually serve prison time and one is eventually cleared of charges after his conviction on appeal. It sounds like due process has been applied to all. Yet Paul Hodes has no more pressing issues on his plate than to question a now closed case and Kathy Sullivan wants a pledge from John Sununu. So the Department of Justice is still under question by ol' Kath even after two people are sent to prison? Will Hodes and Sullivan ( a great name for a comedy act ) keep the prosecution of Representative William Jefferson, Democrat, Louisiana under the same scrutiny? Last I heard the representative who was found with cold hard cash in his freezer and who diverted emergency workers to clear out his personal residence during the Katrina rescue effort received a delay in his trial. Funny, mounds and mounds of evidence and the democrat gets his trial delayed. I'm sure that if the democrat is convicted Hodes and Sullivan will claim that it was a Republican witch hunt from the same Justice Department that they say hasn't gone far enough convicting Republicans. Mr Hodes, how's that energy independence thing going? Got that on your radar yet or does the phone jamming closed case take priority? Will you next be hunting for evidence of steroid use in the Professional Bass Fisherman Tour? Hey Kath, doing a lot of pro-bono freebie lawyering for the poor of New Hampshire that can't afford counsel? How about you pledge to give free legal services to low income families for a year? Did you remember to pick up Paul's dry cleaning this week?
