H.S. Football: Scramble on for last playoff spot
Three teams are on the bubble for the fast-approaching Division I postseason -- playing high-stakes high school football tilts tonight.
Pressure's on Londonderry, Manchester Central and Nashua South.
Londonderry (4-4 overall, 4-3 Div. I) and South (4-4, 2-4) collide at Lancer Park. Central (5-3, 4-2) and Pinkerton Academy of Derry (5-3, 5-1) clash at Gill Stadium. Outcomes in these 7 p.m. games are critical to the playoff race.
What's known is Salem (8-0, 6-0), Nashua North (7-1, 6-1) and Pinkerton are playoff-bound with two weeks remaining in the regular season.
So, a slot remains for the Lancers, Little Green or defending champion Purple Panthers.

Paul, you got it right. I know you will be routing for the Astros tonight as will I. Good luck to all of kids competing for their schools this weekend
- stead, NH
My understanding, corrections welcome:
1) Central controls their own destiny, they can clinch the last spot with a win tonight vs. Pinkerton AND a win next week vs. Salem.
2) If Londonderry wins tonight vs. South, South is eliminated.
3) A Londonderry win tonight coupled with one Central loss gives Londonderry the last playoff spot, as Londonderry beat Central and would hold the head-to-head tiebreaker.
- Paul, Londonderry
