Pauline of Franklin, I presently reside in the so called "inner" City section of Manchester and my point was that Manchester so called "inner" City (project or a ghetto) is not as bad as people in New Hampshire perceive it to be.
I am a transplant to New Hampshire and I have been in NH for about 6 years and I do go to New York City at least once a month.
I visited and lived in Canada and Europe and so getting out of New England is not applicable to me.
I go to Boston minimum of 5 days a week and I am actually off to New York this weekend.
- JD Williams, Manchester

Congratulations Aimee. Kudos on the trademark, especially given the host of fly-by-night grids that allow anyone to pick whatever name they like. I had to register Cheshyr on OpenLife almost a year ago to stop that sort of identity theft.
- Cheshyr Pontchartrain, Danby, VT

James Jones- perhaps you should stop drinking the Kool-Aid and actually READ Pauline's post.
She obviously has been out of New England and has been to NYC.
Manchester is a picnic compared to those schools.
As for this article, I hope as well that she makes this pay off, but the internet is about to have another bubble burst and let's hope she has not put all her eggs in this "goth" basket.
I certainly wouldn't use her image for a high profile company.
- Luke, Bristol

Pauline,

you should get out of New England for a while and see how inner city Manchester is ... NYC is the projects comparatively - Manch is no where near anything but inner city!

Good for Alyssa ... its no different than any other service related job - its more so the knowledge of a product or sector that makes you the money, not the work you do - I charge $100/hr for computer work, most of it being to sit down and tell someone where to click their mouse, repeating the same steps every week to the same rich client - good for me finding a niche people appreciate, good for Alyssa for doing the same!
- James Jones, Colorado

Hey, Lew, Ms LaRoch is a hottie in real life and in Second Life.

Aimee Weber (aka Ms LaRoch) is an innovative force in our virtual community of Second Life, and one of the nicest ladies I have ever met. Businesses and regular old PC gamers like me have learned a lot from her. Thanks, Aimee!
- Clancy Sullivan, Mainland, Estruda, Second Life

Oh My God. Get a REAL life.
- Chris, Concord

Congratulations on getting the trademark, Aimee! And hats off to your good business sense and successful studio (quite an accomplishment for such a young woman)!!
- Terre, San Luis Obispo, California

I just checked out her website and this person is doing very well for herself. She has major corporations coming to her to make virtual designs and prototypes. Good job!

I do not play/work with Second Life. However, I know there are people who make money hand over fist within this "game". I also know that many major Software & IT companies recruit very talented people due to their work in this game. There are also many other companies that indulge in this world. Geek Sheek is still in and kudos to whom ever can make a buck by doing it.

And Lew, you are just jealous because you could never pull something like this off.....
- Mike, Manchester, NH

Melanie...
Yes, Lew is a heel and his comments are not necessary at all. But do you want the U.L. to start being a censor for harmless opinions and idiocy? I think the U.L. was right to publish this . Lets hope people know who Lew really is so they can berate him for his boorish attitude in person.
- John, Manchester

Congratulations Alyssa!!! You found a niche and went with it. All the power to you!!!
- Tim, Derry

Great job Ms LaRoche in reaching your goal. Lew, pathetic comment, I usually find people that make these comments have large self-esteem issues --get help.
- Dave, Manchester

Lew: considering she has three employees, and a successful business, I'd say she has been on that treadmill for a while now. Is that an achievement that you can equal?
- Peter, Jaffrey

Shame on you, Lew for being rude. This is a person who made something of herself, put herself through college, has reliable work, and all you can do is slam her by saying she needs to go on a Treadmill?

Shame on the Union Leader for allowing Lew's comment to be published!!!! Clearly Lew's comment is in bad taste and was completely down-right rude!
- Melanie, Manchester

Lew:

Is it really necessary to write a comment like that? Does it make you feel better? You're an idiot! There, now I feel better.

Union Leader:

That comment was poorly written and in bad taste. Your editors really need to start doing there job!
- Melissa, Manchester

And I believe Lew from Manchester needs to learn some manners and keep his fingers quiet on the computer keyboard because, unlike him, I do remember the old adage taught to all of us...if you don't have something nice to say...say nothing at all.
Peace
- Joel, Nashua

I'm sure Lew's not overweight at all!
- sarah, manchester

I hope all the money she threw away on this foolishness can be made up somehow.
Comparing herself to McD's was a little much.
JD- if you think Manchester schools are "inner city" you really need to get out more. That term is usually applied to schools in NYC and area.
- Pauline, Franklin

I guess successful students and good things could come out from an "inner" City Central High School.
- JD Williams, Manchester

Ms LaRoche needs to get out the virtual world and onto a real treadmill .
- Lew, Manchester
