LaxFan,
BG is such a great lacrosse program with amazing coaches, what parent wouldnt want to send them to BG, honestly? Get over yourself, BG is the best and clearly you all are jealous but if you want to trash talk BG go right ahead, its not going to change our popularity, and it certainly will NOT make your school ANY better!
BG is used to all the jealous cowards, its alright we understand your desire for an outstanding athletic AND educational programs

thanks!
- Bill, Merrimack

Well said Parker!
- Jesus, Hanover

"Hanover was lucky to win??" ha get over yourself Bill.
Hanover lax is a group of hard working and athletic men.

not stuck up kids from all over new england whose parents pay for them to be on an all star lax team...(and lose the championship)
- LaxFan, Duxbury, MA

So John in Derry

The boys have a great football, lets see they beat pinkerton who was favored to win in the first place in D1.Lets go on, what about the cross country teams? ya id say thier pretty good consideringg theyve got some of the best runners. O and i dont know if you realized but 2 years i a row, have both freshman football teams won championships. i dont know about the other classes. And this freshman team beat south in the championship. Moving along, what about golf? pretty much have the best golfer who is a girl. How about Hockey? ya their pretty good if you call winning good.Swimming is great there. and also skiing! and the girls lacrosse team just got to the championship! Wow so would you look at that!i dont know about you, but id say we have a great athletic program. O and did i mention how good the girls track team is? How many titles in a row did they win? you can be the judge
- Dan, NH

Really Bill. How did Hanover get lucky when BG had about 12 man down opportunities to score and was about 2 for 12 which in lax is awful. If they deserved to win they would have gone out and got the job done but they didn't. Also come on don't blame injuries on costing BG the game. Every team in the league probably had players that suffered injuries but played with them. Hanover even played on what was essentially BG's home field and still got it done. BG also had a lot more fans but you guys made no noise for your team at all. The Hanover fans were much louder, thus giving our team a spark in the beginning of the game so they could get that early lead. Also look at both times Hanover has played BG in a final Hanover-2 BG-0.
- Parker Sutherland, Hanover

First off, let me say congratulations to Hanover for a remarkable playoff run. They deserve it. Also, BG deserves a lot of credit for a great season with a very young team that should be dangerous next year. The game itself was great. But as somebody who was lucky enough to be on the field at the end of the game, i must say that the class and sportsmanship exhibited by both teams was amazing for a bunch of teenagers. After a well deserved, wild celebration, the hanover players showed how to win with grace, and several players could be seen giving hugs and reassuring words to the BG players. BG players were also very graceful in defeat, and showed a lot of maturity (if only the people posting here could be more like these kids). Both the coaches should be credited with teaching boys how to behave like men, even after such an intense game. Congratulations to both teams.
- john, Manchester

Hanover, regarding the win, you were very lucky. I have no family that attend or has attended BG, but I know that they are a great team. They deserved to win. BG has such a wonderful lacrosse team and everyone knows that. Don't hate on BG because the school is popular. They DO NOT recruit so stop starting that. It is not BG's fault that parents' want their children going to a fantastic school with excelling sports' teams and a phenomenal curriculum.
The BG lacrosse team has been through a number of injuries on their team which have caused stress on the boys. They lost a very important defensive player who they needed out on the field that night. Unfortunately due to Pinkertons lack of common sense and respect, the boy was out for the rest of the season.

Do not criticize BG, how would you like it if people said that about your school?
- Bill, Merrimack

Yes I'm looking forward to the BG-PA matchup, also the rest of the D1/D2 pairings with central-exeter, south- timberlane, and londonderry-keene. But still, I'm sure this topic will come up again this year, these crossover games don't mean too much until we start seeing some of these dominant d2 teams make a jump up a division and play a full d1 schedule. Or even better, combine the 2 and make it a super division.
- John, Derry

I have no beef with the BG athletic program and whatever success they might enjoy. What I have a problem with is what seems to be the very thin skinned, whiny people who think they're being picked on if anything even remotely critical is being said of BG.
- Paul, Derry

John in Derry -

Valid point although take a closer look:
Football 4-5 Div II titles, beat Pinkerton last year and Central two years in a row.
Ice Hockey, dominant for years.
Girls track won 12 straight team titles before losing this year.
The other sports are competitive although I will try to delve into any conversation regarding basketball, baseball, tennis, golf, etc.

Regardless, it is HS sports. Have fun, work hard, become a team player and move on with a productive life. BTW - BG vs. Pinkerton again this year at Pinkerton...Week 1 in Derry...should be a good one!
- Shane, Manchester

Let's not get ahead of ourselves with the remarkable athletics at BG. BG is competitive in what, lax and division 2 football? Baseball, basketball, track, any women's athletics? Not so much
- John, Derry

BG deserves much credit with it's athletic programs, I had many friends that went there in the late 70's, the issue is how many towns in Northern MA. and Southern NH that they get athletes from. If you have say, 2 kids from 10 area towns that are great athletes, that is one helluva recruiting field. Even BG parents complain and or know they have recruited many athletes that are great kids and future role models for many, and god knows, we need all kids like this, regardless if it's BG, Milford , Hollis etc.

Good for Hanover for winning, good for BG for getting there, great for both schools and for schools all over that will graduate their seniors.

Pinkerton did the same back in the day, Plymouth draws from many towns as well. This has become an athletic issue and should recognize BG as a true D 1 program, same with other schools and how they are grouped.

To the guy who ranted about BG recruiting.........relax, so they recruit, life is not sports alone and having a brother who played MLB, I know more than most.
- rick, Manchester

Congratulations to the players and coaches at Hanover High School for winning the state championship.

Congratulations is also in order for the players and coaches at Bishop Guertin for their remarkable season.

Both teams gave their fans a game to be proud of and one that deserves recognition for a thrilling game with momentum swings each quarter and outstanding play by all players on eth field.

This is what NH lacrosse is all about.
- Bob Holley, Norwich, VT

To every who claims that BG recruits, get over yourselves. BG does NOT recruit. Just becuase BG has a fantastic atheltic program does not mean they recruit. All you idiots who complain about BG need to be quiet, they have a wonderful school with very talented kids. Don't hate on BG becuase they are clearly better than you, grow up and stop being so immature and jealous.
To everyone who wants to rub Hanover's win in BG's face, mature please. Hanover won, big whoop we all know who the better team is and that's BG.
BG Varsity Lacrosse is amazing and they are going to destroy teams next year, just you wait.

Oh and P.S, stop bringing up past events that took place with BG and the lacrosse team. It is done and over with, so stop talking about it. You all need a reality check and an attitude adjustment.

Get over yourselves, thanks (:
- John Papwood, Nashua, NH

Hysterical! So much BG hatred! Remember, the toughest about being on top is staying on top. Just ask Central football, Pinkerton lax or BG girls track.

BG athletes: don't concern yourself with the droves of haters...ask yourself, if you or another member of your family did not attend BG would you root for the school? Of course not.

It is a great school with a proud tradition of acedemic, athletic and community achievement...something Mr. BlueGrey probably found out first hand while attending Exeter HS. Better luck next year guys.
- Shane, Manchester

A great victory of a NH PUBLIC school team over a hand-picked, RECRUITED all-star team. Anyone that bought a roster last night can readily see that Hanover proudly defended NH's D1 lacrosse title from being stolen by Mass/NH LACROSSE recruits that BG has sold-its-soul bringing in under the pretext of a Catholic education.

Just look how many of its recent star rent-a-players have only attended BG for 1 or 2 key lacrosse seasons. Hardly the 'Catholic Education' committment most Catholic schools require. The entire NH lacrosse community is well aware of the 'whispers' in their players ears each summer during the BG / Tomahawks 'recruiting sessions' .

If the rumors out of Mass are true about the next wave of recruits that BG's coach & AD have wooed (where IS the administrative oversight?), then Hanover's championship last night might be the last one for a PUBLIC school for a few years. David over Goliath, indeed!
- BlueGrey, Exeter, NH

i bet hanover was to physical. BG better bring that up to the board and see if they can get the finally score over ruled and the hanover coach fired for having his players in too good of shape. To Bad BG couldnt buy another championship.
- nick, vt

BG still played a great season after graduating an entire team's worth of players.
- Zack, Manchester

Get ready for the BG whiners!
I wonder if Hanover was just to physical?
- Dave, Pembroke

Hanover played a great game..Congratulations.

BG Varsity Lacrosse, you have had an incredible season! Well done! Your fans have all the faith in the world in your hard work and ability! GO BG!
- Bobbi, Bedford NH

Congratulations Hanover!
The best team has won!
