John from Pembroke, you seem to think you know it all. By alla ccounts, the State police and law enforcement in general handled the situation very professionally without one shot being fired and without anybody getting hurt. I call that a success.
As for the road flares...yes, they may have known but it is what they didn't know that they had to be cautious of. Had the State police stormed the place and something went wrong, then people like you would be blasting the cops for moving to swiftly.
The State Police and the Highway patrol showed why they should put their stupid lawsuits aside and learn from this recent hostage situation. It took teamwork to settle this entire matter without any injuries.
The bottom line is, the police handled this entire matter with great professionalism and they shoudl be applauded for the manner in which they conducted themselves.

As far as it being overdramatized, I can understand that, but at the same time, being a security officer for a major financial company, I also see that no matter what the circumstances, it's best to always be prepared. If that means bring the robot, bring the robot. It'll be better than going into the situation WISHING you had one.

What the real tuth of this story is that this man has been and was begging for medical help that has failed in this country.Yes,he went about it the wrong way but only after exhausting any other alternatives made available to him.People are suffering.People are dieing for lack of health care. The elite who make the rules don't have this problem. What does it take to wake up the politicians. There will be greater problems than this poor man screaming for help if changes aren't made for the common average people.

I really dont know what to think. Lately the government has been nothing but lies. Im actually starting to wonder if this was all a publicity stunt to makes mrs. clinton look better than she is. Think about it...can you trust the system lately?

Well, I guess the next time something like this happens, the State Police should just send in their "secret" weapon, RICKbo! With his bipartisan super x-ray eyesight, he could have determined right away that our villian was armed only with road flares, and turned him into a giant birthday cake of sorts, placing the flares strategically into the orifices of our villian with one fell swoop. And the Republicans would love him forever. And we could have a rickertape parade. *cough*, I need a rickola.

Let's see, they knew who he was at 2 pm,they knew he had road flares from the interview with the step son. Was it really necessary to bring in over 50 State Police cars, SWAT, and robots. I think this was over dramatized and a chance for the police to use thier toys. I was just waiting for Hilary to don the Dukakis helmet and stand in the street with a megaphone. your right Mike, If this had happened in a Republican office he wouldn't have lasted 2 minutes. I bet Hilary will now introduce to legislation that all road flares must say "ROAD FLARE" on the them. Then she would be a hero.
- John, Pembroke
That's awesome, Rick. Or maybe one of the road flares would have accidently ignited in your hero fantasy and killed the baby and blinded the mother. The volunteers obviously saw it for what it was, a deranged man making useless threats, though with some level of danger. It required five hours to end with nobody hurt.
- Dave, Epping
Funny Rick, but I don't think if it was at a republican office that the police would have treated him any different. Good job democratic, republican, independent and other political ideological police forces in Rochester.
I think EisenbergIt knows we have a free county with free speech, as he showed when objecting to the police fliers. He should have remained on a LEGAL format to profess his views.
- Chris, Sandown
I wonder what outcome would have emerged, had he done this at a Republican candidates campaign office? There is probably a high likelihood he would have come flying out the door on the end of a boot, with his road flares either taped to his head or shoved forcibly into his orifices.

ABC news ran a story that Eisenberg was a victim of sexual abuse in Boston by Rev. Richard Buntel, and filed a lawsuit. See http://www.abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=3939084&page=1
The lawsuit is at http://www.bishop-accountability.org/ma-boston/archives/PatternAndPractice/0092-Complaint-Eisenberg-v-RCAB.pdf
Bishop McCormack's role in the Buntel case is at http://www.bishop-accountability.org/ma-boston/archives/PatternAndPractice/Brief/02-Buntel.pdf beginning on pdf p. 2.
One cannot say the abuse caused what happened yesterday. One can say that priests preyed on the troubled and vulnerable, while bishops failed to act for years.
