I guess Pettitte decided it was better to be a rat next to another rat, instead of a liar next to his best friend.
- Scott, Bedford

Why is Pettitte untouchable???

One of the Congressman called his reputation impeccable. Another called him a role model to every American. What the heck is wrong with these people. Let's forget about Clemens for a second, someone please tell me why Pettitte is a saint for admitting to doing illegal drugs on atleast three occassions.
- Scott, Bedford

There were no winners yesterday:
Congress, Clemens and McNamee all looked and sounded awful.

Congress can't ask specific, concise, cogent questions with a 5 min. time frame.

Clemens can't speak. Remember the time he said he was mis-interpretated? his word not mine.

McNamee looks like a rat caught in a corner.

How can they spend more than 4 hours and not get to the bottom of an issue without fawning over a baseball pitcher?

These are the best people we sent to Washington?

I need another shower.
- RG, Manchester

The Clemens family really helped themselves yesterday, liars. Even the 6 pack abs in the Debbie photo for SI was doctored - no amount of HGH and situps can do that after 4 kids. Maybe they were adopted and they lied to us about that too.

Let the police deal with the athletes using illegal drugs instead of baseball, not the commission. The same should be for college sutdents--they should be held responsible by the police for underage drinking, not the college officials.

You want to stop drug use in sports--one strike and your out. Tough love. Once a few major stars are ousted for life, the others will not want to risk it.
- Chris, Boston

We should be more ashamed of our congressman and congresswomen then anybody else up there. 1-2 actually did so research the rest just grandstanded.
- Craig, Derry

Now if we could put all of the Congressman and Senators under the same scrutiny that we are making a couple of over paid athletes go through maybe we could find out just how crooked they really are.
- Russ, Manchester

There are much more important issues facing the US. All sports are on notice that performance enhancers, illegal drugs will not be tolerated. Leave the enforcement to the sports governing bodies and get on with the business of running the country.
- Doris S, Jaffrey

This whole investigation is getting out of control. Why is the government involved? Shouldn't our government involved in important issues like health care, education, homelessness, employment, HOMELAND Security...should I go on?
- K.Marie, Goffstown

Another example of tax payers $ being wasted ona bunch of crap. Nobody cares! These jerks in Washington must have nothing better to worry about! They should be all voted out of office.
- Tom, Manchester

I now misremember how great a pitcher
Roger Clemens was. Its was a sad day for the sport I love.
- Paul, Nashua

Why is the government even involved with this? Are we funding these teams with our tax dollars? Is there not a commissioner that oversees these issues? Must be a slow season for Congress to make time to address the "really important" issues that are a threat to the United States.
- Andy C, Salem,NH

There could be as many as 20 million illegals in the country, filling schools, having us pay for their hospital care and using stolen social security numbers. What is congress worried about? Whether a washed-up baseball pitcher took some HGH years ago. It's time to get a new congress!
