Love that face on Patrick Murphy!! It captures all of the absolute awe and wonder of the Stanley Cup. He's pretty impressed even if his beloved Penguins didn't win it. No sour grapes there. Way to go Patrick.

Patrick Murphy is my cousin and I am very proud of him and his school to host a visit of Lord Stanley's cup!

that's why the Stanley Cup is, quite simply the greatest trophy in the world. While the other sports make new ones every year, at the most they have to add a new ring around the base every 13 years! The NHL's (and before there WAS an NHL) history is inscribed on it's surface. Can anyone name a another trophy that's been thrown off a train by drunken giddy champions, used to serve shrimp cocktail at a family cookout, or held overhead while a member of the champion's jumps off his diving board into the family pool. While the Celtics championship trophy sits in a case, Lord Stanley 's been visiting EVERY member of the winning team and their staff. a peoples' trophy, not just for the owners of teams.

I love the fact that Patrick Murphy is wearing a Pittsburgh Penguins shirt - the team that the RedWings beat in the finals.
Adds some intrigue into what he might be thinking...."that could have been ours!"
- Dave, Lee, NH
Patrick Murphy's facial expression just about takes the cake. Absolutely priceless! I must admit that I have seen the Lombardi trophy, the O'Brien trophy and the Commissioner's trophy from those great Boston sports teams. But, nothing compares to that Stanley Cup! Nothing!
Alec O'Meara: great, great picture; great, great story!! Thank you!
