Justin Azevedo's fifth round shootout goal gave the Manchester Monarchs a 6-5 road win last night against the Binghamton Senators in AHL action in Binghamton, N.Y. Manchester is 10-4-1 and Binghamton is 7-7-2.

Manchester had built what seemed to be a comfortable 5-1 lead midway through the final period but Binghamton forced overtime by peppering the Monarchs' net with four goals over nine minutes.

After a scoreless overtime period, Oscar Moller scored on the Monarchs' first round of the shootout. Monarchs goalie Jeff Zatkoff (40 saves) turned away the first two shots he faced but Binghamton's Denis Hamel kept his team alive with a goal on the third attempt. Azevedo followed with the game-winner in the fifth.

The Senators scored the first goal of the game nine minutes into the first period but Manchester responded with two scores from Corey Elkins and another from Brandon Segal to take a 3-1 lead at the first break.
