By JOHN DISTASO
Senior Political Reporter

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton will be together on Friday at their first Democratic unity event of the 2008 general election campaign in - appropriately enough - Unity, New Hampshire.

The announcement by the Obama campaign yesterday had the New Hampshire political community buzzing.

Speculation had been building about a possible New Hampshire joint appearance since last week, when Obama and Clinton disclosed they would appear together in a "battleground" state. But the decision to have the candidates return to New Hampshire, the site of high political drama during the first-in-the-nation primary campaign, was not finalized until the past few days, according to Obama spokesman Reid Cherlin.

The campaign said the event will be called a "Unite for Change" rally. The venue for the event was not disclosed yesterday, although there was speculation that it will be held near the Unity School.

Hillary and Obama

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., speaks with Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., right, during the annual convention of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in Washington in July 2006.

Coincidentally, Obama and Clinton each received 107 votes in Unity on Jan. 8, as Clinton was defeating Obama in the primary by a count of 112,404 votes to 104,815 votes.

Jim Demers, Obama's campaign co-chairman in New Hampshire, credited state Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-Exeter, a top Clinton supporter, with planting the seed for an event in Unity, a community of about 1,700 in the western part of the state about 10 miles southeast of Claremont.

"Who knows if I'm the only one who came up with the idea?" said Hassan. "I remember looking at the results a couple of days after the primary and being struck by the Unity result. More recently, I said to Jim Demers that whatever happens, we should remind people that in Unity, New Hampshire, each of them got 107 votes."

Demers said he then brought the Unity results to the attention of Obama campaign officials.

"I think that everyone thought that symbolically, that was an outstanding place because of its name and because the result there was similar to what the whole campaign was €" virtually an even draw," Demers said.

"It's a phenomenal place to have a unity event," he said. "It is so symbolic of how the race turned out. The name of the community being Unity sends a great message of what lies ahead."

New Hampshire Democratic Chairman Raymond Buckley said, "New Hampshire is honored to be the host of this historic event. The decision by Senators Obama and Clinton to come to Unity shows not only the importance of New Hampshire in the general election but a powerful message of unity as well."

Fergus Cullen, chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party, had this to say about what he described in a written statement as a "town hall meeting" in Unity: "Senator Obama says he represents the politics of change, but by refusing to participate in the town hall meetings John McCain has proposed, Obama is clinging to the old politics of stagecraft and speechifying. Without direct questions and a focus on substantive issues, his appearance in Unity will be nothing more than tired political theater."

Obama spokesman Reid Cherlin said he was aware of speculation both locally and nationally that Obama may choose the Unity event to announce that Clinton is his vice presidential choice. But he threw cold water on the rumor, saying that the selection process is still under way and will not be concluded by Friday.

Also under consideration was a possible New Hampshire visit by Michelle Obama on Thursday, a campaign source said. But Cherlin said he was unaware of such plans.

Obama and Clinton are expected to ask Granite State Democrats to unite for Obama in his general election battle with Republican John McCain.

Although New Hampshire has only four electoral votes, it is a high-profile state nationally because of its presidential primary. It has also become a swing state politically due to the increase in the past six years of Democratic and independent voters.

A poll last week by the Manchester-based American Research Group had Obama leading McCain, 51, to 39 percent, in New Hampshire, with 10 percent undecided.

The University of New Hampshire's most recent poll was taken in early May, before Clinton left the race. It showed McCain ahead of both Obama, 49 to 43 percent, and Clinton, 47 to 44 percent.

Clinton spokesman Kathleen Strand said Clinton "is looking forward to joining Senator Obama at this historic event and personally thanking her supporters who worked so hard for her campaign.

"Hillary believes the stakes in this election are very high, and if we want to finish the job we started, it's important we come together as a party and do everything we can to elect Senator Obama in November."

The rally will be the day after Obama and Clinton meet privately Thursday at a Washington hotel with former Clinton donors, according to The Associated Press. The former first lady will introduce Obama to her financial backers who have been slow to embrace her one-time opponent.

The Obama campaign said that former President Bill Clinton will not attend the Unity rally.

YOUR COMMENTS

I really hopes Obama make it to president. He is a hero of the whole world, fighting the republicans who always thing of america before they think of the world dying and crying, starving at hand. No more america comes first. Yes for Obama, retire for McCan.
- Harish, Nashua, NH

Good for them. Time for the Democrats to get this thing rolling. I may of voted for Hillary, but I think it's time to unite behind Obama. Anyone is better then McCaine.
- will, nj

Anyone have Unity NH shuttle tickets they are willing to part with? Will pay a reasonable price.

The sort of quotes included on the Union Leader Op-Ed page are typical of the infamous selective "yellow journalism" practised by this newspaper for decades. Where are your standards of decency and objective writing? You should be ashamed of your preference for race baiting and negative remarks that have given both NH and the US a bad reputation around the world. As a resident of this state, I am embarrassed by your deliberate slander and distortion of views by good, thoughtful, patriotic, honest folks of NH. Consistent with your past history, I think you continue to do a disservice to good, thoughtful citizens of our state. Read your masthead and think about it!

Mike(Concord) ease up on Jim(Raymond) will you.
He don't need to do no stinking homework. He's got change and hope and hope and change, and that's all a simple man needs these days.
Besides,I'm sure he just "mis-read"the article again.Must be all that hope and change clouding his vision.

"White guilt" is evidently alive and well as a political force in the "post-racial" USA. Why else would a relative novice with dubious credentials and questionable associates (including former members of the Weather Underground) actually enjoy any support whatsoever beyond the single digits in a place like New Hampshire? And how else to explain the Obama supporters in New Hampshire who crave "change" and a candidate who will champion the little guy, even though their anointed one is supported by globalist gazillionaire George Soros?

The motives of the ninety-percent of Black voters who support Obama (and the Latino voters who will support him when the time comes) are quite different from those of his White "constituents," who desperately crave absolution from their inborn sense of racial guilt. Taking the long view, it doesn't matter what they do. The white-guilt crowd will be denied this absolution no matter how they vote, and if anyone doubts that, let them question the farmers of South Africa and the former Rhodesia, who have been denied not only the "forgiveness" they hoped to buy with their political surrender, their but in many cases, their homes and their very lives. In the meantime, we must not be "bitter" about our disenfranchisement.

Voting for McCain, or any other think-tank fed, AIPAC-owned neocon is not a realistic alternative. There ARE no alternatives. Poor America!
- Jack, formerly of NYC, Sunapee, NH

I don't know why Obama is showing up in Unity since 80% of the voters there DID NOT want him as thier president. He only got 107 out of over 500 votes. 80% SAID NO!
- Joe, Manchester

Jim from Raymond, Do you ever, ever bother to do your own homework or are you going to keep embarrassing yourself by just blathering lies repeated by others?

>>Obama is not a former coke user,

Oh yes he is! He admitted being a weed and coke head himself!!!

As far as Obama having more experience than Bush, that is absurd. Bush was the CHIEF EXECUTIVE of one of the lagest states in the US for 8 years, before becoming President.
- Mike, Concord

As the greatest bumper sticker says:
"WORK HARDER... Millions of people on WELFARE depend on you!"
GOD help us all if the Dems take over this country... 60+ hour work weeks here I come!

They look good wearing the same outfits. And look the same size. But I agree why dont they leave for good.

Fred,

Here’s a short list of Obamas accomplishments

http://factcheck.barackobama.com/factcheck/2008/01/17/fact_check_on_nbcs_today_show.php

He is also far more experienced than our current president was when he took office. Obama has actually worked full time jobs in the past, which is more than I can say for Bush who never worked a full time job until he was appointed president.

It’s also what he hasn’t done that counts too. Obama is not a former coke user, has never been arrested, has never bombed the wrong country, never devalued the American dollar, did not put us into 7.5 trillion in debt, hasn’t destroyed our reputation world wide or our relationship with virtually all of our allies. The list is longer but I’ll stop there.

I figure if he can avoid being as ignorant as our current leadership it will be a vast improvement.
- Jim, Raymond NH

Wow Kathleen look at all of those "real" world qualifications that Barack has. I am sure that living in an academic bubble for years makes him ready to lead over 250 million people.

How many bills has he introduced in the US Senate, and how many times as he worked across party lines at the federal level? Oh yeah, none.

Kathleen it looks like your running low on kool aid.
- Jack, Bow, NH

>>>Barack Obama was running for re-election to the Illinois Senate. He was not required to vote, was not required to take a stand, but he showed courage and wisdom exhibited by far too few in the US Congress at the time:

Do you mean he showed courage on positions by voting 'present', rather than Yes or No, a majority of the time. Yes, a real show of courage...NOT!

>>>Obama, the scholarship student from nowhere, was elected Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Law Review by his blue-blood peers, and he was pursued by every top firm on Wall Street.

And in that role, he published not a single paper, which was somewhat unprecented. No origiunal thoughts/papers. Nothing to distinquished himself in any way.

>>> for many years, Barack Obama chose to teach Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago.

And once again, he published not a single paper while a lecturer, almost unheard of.

>>>duty of upholding the Constitution is the ONLY obligation our president has. Barack Obama is clearly the superior candidate for the job of president.

And Obama has shown himself recently how utterly incompetant he is in this area. Commetators have blasted him many times when he mouths off on constitutional issues, such as on the lawful combative ruling from SCOTUS.

>>>His campaign has been the most publicly funded campaign in the history of American politics.

And the previous record holder was George Bush, but of course, since he was a Republican, all the liberals and media screeched how it was evil to have so much money in politics.
- Mike, Concord

How sweet it will be if Obama annouces that Hillary is his choice for VP. We will get the change we need in Washington.
- Karen, manchester

In other news: Obama and Team plan for the biggest invasion of privacy EVER! The same koolaid drinkers who go berzerk over Bush listening in on some overseas terrorists, GET CONNED BY OBAMA!

Connecticut’s Senator Christopher Dodd (D) is sponsoring legislation that would require all merchants that accept credit cards or electronic payment to forward the details of every transaction to federal regulators. Current law only permits the government to have access to a limited number of targeted transactions as part of law enforcement activities and then only with a court order.

Dodd said his 630-page bill is meant to implement Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama’s proposed crack down on the irresponsible use of credit. “As Senator Obama says, too many people are spending money they don’t have for things they don’t need,” Dodd announced. “The government’s ability to police these activities and rein-in unwarranted waste of the nation’s resources is hampered by lack of access to information on these transactions. This bill corrects that deficiency.”
- Mike, Concord

Let me guess. When all these posters watch as Obama carries NH by 10 points in November, what will their reaction be?
- steve boyington, Chester

A petition for succession.
- Adam, Concord

October 2, 2002
Barack Obama was running for re-election to the Illinois Senate. He was not required to vote, was not required to take a stand, but he showed courage and wisdom exhibited by far too few in the US Congress at the time:

"I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East and encourage the worst, rather than the best, impulses of the Arab world...

In the same speech, Obama, who was 41 at the time, says,
"Let's fight to wean ourselves off Middle East oil, through an energy policy that doesn't simply serve the interests of Exxon and Mobil."

Obama, the scholarship student from nowhere, was elected Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Law Review by his blue-blood peers, and he was pursued by every top firm on Wall Street.
Instead, for many years, Barack Obama chose to teach Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago.
When the president takes the Oath of Office he (someday she) swears to support and defend the Constitution of the United States...
Neither John McCain nor George W. Bush would be qualified to teach Constitutional Law, yet according to the Oath of Office the faithful discharge of this duty of upholding the Constitution is the ONLY obligation our president has. Barack Obama is clearly the superior candidate for the job of president.

His campaign has been the most publicly funded campaign in the history of American politics.
- kathleen thompson gonzalez, san juan PR/springfield VT

Hey Steve, Clinton was a disagrace, too, but women seem not to mind a liar and a cheat. Shameful. And for those who think Obama has experiance, you are so wrong-. Name one thing he has done that proves he is qualified to lead a country at war. Oh, thats' right, you can't.
- Fred Hampton, Bow, NH

Let's let them have their little rally in Unity, NH! Maybe the media and supporters will spend a little money and put NH on the map and help with tourism. The real issue is we need to put this Clinton - Obama thing to bed so we can hear some head to head debates with John McCain. There are many undecided voters to attract let's involve them in real issues and not "catch phrases". Our future depends on making the right decisions!
- T Waz, Manchester

I have to wonder why so many people give passes to Obama and his lies but not to Bush? Haven't you all learned anything yet? It is deathly scary to imagine Obama leading this country unqualified as he is. Wake up, people.
- Pat Richards, Salem, NH

A lot of people are against Obama. ...and a lot of people think McCain is a little too old for the job [considering that my Fire Chief HAS to retire next week when he turns 65].

Let's write in Dick Cheney for President!! That should work toward preserving all the wonderful gains of the past 7 1/2 years, plus he has all the experience, confidence and respect that he needs to now take over formally.
- Doc LeDuc, Whitefield, NH

Barak Obama is what this country needs. Only he can straighten out the ills that every other administration has caused. He will be different than all the others, and has the strength and experience to make this country great again. 200 years of greed, corruption, and plain power lust have ruined this country. Barak will overcome and lead this sorry nation to glory.

Oh look - a flying pig!

(ring...ring) Hello? Satan? You want a parka? Must be getting cold down there.
- Dan M., Londonderry

My apologies my math was off I misread the numbers in the article I am only human but I’m man enough to admit when I make an error.

Still no reason for all the rhetoric, you’re acting like a bunch of school children. Any candidate is welcome here if you want a place where only sanctioned candidates are allowed try China and enjoy your dollar a day.
- Jim, Raymond NH

People will vote for Obama for many reasons.

It seems like the number one reason from what his supporters have posted here is that he will take from the "rich" people and give to the envious and lazy types.
- Mike, Concord

Jim, i doubt people are acting like school children (well maybe some) but I suggest that next time you do your research before you post inaccurate information.

With that being said, I think a lot of posters are irked by how much Channel 9 and the mainstream media are carrying this. Last night on WMUR they did a full expose on Unity and when McCain came to town they gave it a 30 second clip.

I wish WMUR would focus on how bad of a situation NH is in regarding the budget mess which is in line with why 72% of NH residents (of all stations a WMUR poll) do not know that there is a big problem in this state.
- Gavin G., Concord, NH

Yet my sense is something fundamental is changing in how we view Obama; he is losing what made him seem special and inspiring. He is nothing but a FRAUD. A silly black man who does not know what he stands for. An inexperianced politician who is hypocritical and seeking nothing but selfish celebritory fame. ABSURD to elect such a liar. Bill Clinton ruined it for Hillary- he will ruin it for Obama, Down comes the spider...
- Jane Kahn, Exeter, NH

Let me guess. When all these posters watch as Obama carries NH by 10 points in November, what will their reaction be?

Everyone who voted for him is a communist elitist Massachusetts resident who hates our country. It must be nice to hate the majority of your fellow NH citizens. And you say liberals hate our country.

What silliness. You guys need to step off the ledge and back to reality. People will vote for Obama for many reasons. The biggest is that the GOP has become a disgrace. Simple enough.
- steve boyington, Chester

Obama is doing it again. Look at his new commercial introducing himself to the American People and listen to what he is saying at his fundraisers. In his new Commercial introducing himself Obama puts pictures of himself, his mother and Grandparents. He tells us he was raised with Kansas values. The point was to reassure white ethnic middle class voters that he is one of them. Then in his fundraiser, to explain why he is not accepting public financing for the General Election he is telling his African American and Liberal base it is because they will use his Race, African American, against him.in the General Election. Who are the they Obama’s is referring to? The White Rebublican Establishment that runs this country. Those comments were made explicitly for his African American and Liberal base to energize them to register and vote in November. Obama fails to mention the Hate Sites of the Daily Kos and MoveOn.org and other Radical Far Left Wing 527s that are trashing John McCain every day. To Obama they are O.K.
- Ken Walsh, Rochester, NH

My apologies my math was off I misread the numbers in the article I am only human but I’m man enough to admit when I make an error.

Still no reason for all the rhetoric, you’re acting like a bunch of school children. Any candidate is welcome here if you want a place where only sanctioned candidates are allowed try China and enjoy your dollar a day.
Jim
- Jim, Raymond NH

Wow, political pandering at its worst! What's next, John McCain holds a parallel rally in the town of Freedom?

(Personally I don't have a horse in this race, but the McCain camp is free to steal my idea, lame as it might be...)
- LE, formerly Grafton County

The pary will unite to come up with more programs for us to pay for. Obama wasn't doing too bad on his own for this.

Wish list: Wish they would leave our state and not return.
- Tom, Stratford Hollow, NH

With all of this word play with "Unity, NH," personally, I think that it would have been much more fitting if Obama would have visited a town in Coos County rather than Unity, NH. "Coos" is an old Native American word meaning "crooked." Come on Obama, it really couldn't have been a more perfect county for you to visit.
- Ryan Feltner, Manchester, NH

MANCHESTER – Late last night, a man with a knife robbed the 7-Eleven on Maple Street, police said.

Hey Randy McQuade, if you want to steal from "rich people", at least man up and do it yourself (like the guy above), rather than having Obama do it for you.
- Mike, Concord

Rick M- from Portsmouth:

Very good comment!!!
- Jack Tillman, Raymond, NH

>>All the youth voted for Obama.

No kidding! LOL!

Winston Churchill said it best:

"If at 20, you're not a liberal, you have no heart. And by the time you reach 40, if you're not a conservative, you have no brain."

Only the youth think both bell bottoms and Obama's rhetoric are something "new". The rest of us know it's just the same tired old stuff getting retreaded.
- Mike, Concord

You Republicans are cracking me up this morning. You're all Bush loving idiots. If it wasn't for your stupidity, this world would be a better place!
- Beth, Candia

All of this seems like just so much drama. I think all of this energy could be used in a more productive manner considering the state of affairs in our nation. In fact all of these kinds of actions seem to be morfting Obama into a arm of Clinton. His message of change will be compremised, I think..
- Jean, Los Angeles, California

Jim from Ramond "Keep in mind that 1400 out of 1700 voters in Unity voted Democrat"

Jim, You make a most perfect Obama supporter, endless talk with no hard factual substance behind it.

Here are the actual numbers from the official NH Secretary of State website.

Democrats:
Clinton 107
Obama 107
Edwards 78
Richardson 15
----------------
307

Republicans:
Romney 70
McCain 81
R. Paul 21
Guiliani 20
Huckabee 21
---------------
213
- Joe, Manchester

For those of you who don't know...don from Exeter...

Exeter is the birthplace of the republican party...and it will probably go for Obama this year.
- Dave, Exeter, NH

This Clinton-Obama meeting is exciting news indeed.

Is there anyone out there who can send me the following info?
1)Time of meeting
2)Location of meeting

neilmck@sympatico.ca
- Neil McKenty, Bennington, Vt.

Too bad there's not a town named Fraudulence, NH -- it would be much better suited for these two.
- Rick M., Portsmouth

NH residents are funny. You people really think you're republicans? HAH! The REAL republicans are only using you to get the election, and laughing at you behind closed doors. Unless you make over $150,000/year you are a scourge to republicans, they look at you like low class. Cause all the republican laws are for people that HAVE MONEY. Reagan fooled you into becoming republican, and you continue to fool yourself into thinking you are upper class. If you are just against Obama because of race, then that is okay because that is a fading trend. Older people are more racist, younger people are alot more open-minded. All the youth voted for Obama. Of EVERY Race! All the old people will be dead in a few years anyway, INCLUDING McCain, so why vote like it's the 50's when you were all children. The time's are changing people. Are you REALLY the high class rich republican like you think? Or has thet changed over the last few years? How much in debt are you? Do you try to fool people into thinking you are rich when if you paid off all your debts and bills you'd be living in a camper? Notice this one thing: all Obama supporters are Polite.
- Randy McQuade, Manchester, NH

Jim from Raymond your post is pretty funny. Where do you get your info about 1400 out of 1700 people voted democrat? Hillary and Obama each received 107 votes, what happened to the other 1,186 ballots?

For those of you who dont know, Unity is in Sullivan County (west of Sunappe). Sullivan County is the home to Vermont and Mass elitists who either moved there or own a second home.
- Don, Exeter, NH

Senator Clinton and Mr. Wanna-be, please excuse the arithmetically challenged of this state. Democrats were never really good at doing the math.

You can use a calculator, but I think 107 plus 107 is 214, not quite 1400. And, on top of that, the article says Unity has 1700 residents. I'm guessing not all of them are registered to vote.

But never let reality get in the way of a good story.
- Marc, Derry

The town of Unity is clearly being exploited. If I was a resident of that town, I'd be mighty upset.

Haven't any of you hard-core Democrats learned your lesson yet? The Dems took over the majority in 2006 thanks to the perfect storm of Iraq and Bush-bashing, and look what all of you anti-war voters got: NOTHING! There is still a war in Iraq. You got duped by this party and now you're supporting Obama? The Dems had the power to cut the funding for the war and they FAILED! How can you trust them? You also voted the Dems into the majority in NH and look at that disaster. There is a huge budget mess, 17% rise in spending, nanny laws, and a spineless governor. The Dems use class-warfare tactics to make you think they care about you. They don't. They will do or say ANYTHING to get into office.

Have any of you anti-war people even considered the fact that because McCain was a POW that maybe he'll be a LOT more responsible with the decision to go to war than GWB? There are plenty of things I do not like about McCain, but the fact is he is a much better choice than Obama for President.

We need a balance of power in our government. One side cannot be in charge. I cite the last two years in NH as proof of why the Dems being in charge will be a bad thing for this country as well as the Republican majority in 2004. At least McCain has proven time and again that he can work across the aisle. Obama hasn't and won't.

/Rant over.
- Bryan L., Nashua

Welcome back to NH! This is great for the state that politics isn't on a national stage here solely for the primary.
- Jim, Manchester

One question you need to ask yourself: Did the Democratic Congress make good on all their promises to you? Obama is neither experianced or qualified to lead a country. Do you want to pay higher taxes in a struggling economy? You will, without a doubt, by electing this liberal. Do you realize how unsafe you will be with this person who has not been to the country we are at war with in years? Do you realize the terrorists are just waiting for this man to be elected? All true.
Time to wake up America.
- Troy Barrows, Boston, Mass

NH stand with Obama or else die of plage.
- Ahmit, Nashua, NH

What exactly is this supposed to mean? Are you implying that if Obama is not elected, we will instantly become a third world country, and we will all die of the plague? Ya, ok. Smoke another one.
- Chip, Bow

Obama is neither experianced or qualified. He has flip flopped more than any other, has skewed the Bible, wants to increase taxes in an unstable economy, does not know anything about foreign policy, has not been to Iraq in many years, will put this country at risk, and will not win simply because Ameica does NOT need a manipulative liberal liar. Did the Democratic Congress make good on all their promises to you?
- Peter Harris, Concord, NH

Where is this town? Never heard of it...
- christine, manchester

Please save all of these posts that support and praise Comrade Obama. In just a very few short years, we can reprint them and see if some of you naive fools have learned anything. I suspect that you will also look back on the 8 years that GW ran this country and find a few more good things about his service than you see now.

Pray folks, that Senator McCain finds his spine and stands up once again to defend this country from the Marxists and Stalinists. They are here among us now, and very close to being elected President of this great free country.

Help!
- Pete, Keene

The fawning coverage from NH's premiere TV station is making me sick.
- Chris, Merrimack

"Please excuse the ignorance of some of my fellow NH residents. Keep in mind that 1400 out of 1700 voters in Unity voted Democrat and that’s just about where our nation stands."

Sure Jim, make a statement of utter gross ignorance, i.e. that the country is 82% democrat, to prove you are one of the "smart ones".
- Joe, Manchester

If Obama and Clinton unite, then the election, unfortunatly, is all but decided!
If I were a religious man I'd be praying right now!
- Randy Cobleigh, Manchester NH

Welcome back to NH Senator Clinton and Mr. President.
Please excuse the ignorance of some of my fellow NH residents. Keep in mind that 1400 out of 1700 voters in Unity voted Democrat and that’s just about where our nation stands.
Enjoy our great state we’re looking forward to the inauguration
- Jim, Raymond NH

Obama is the biggest fraud ever to run for president. He speaks out of every side of his mouth, spewing meaninless vapid koolaid, that zambinni tranced groupies take to mean whatever they want it to mean.

He's not a uniter, has NEVER, EVER, done anything to put actual feet to that, always voting hard patisian left, unlike John McCain who has worked across the aisle. Obama plays the race card all the time. His greatest skill is reading other people's speeches. When he talks on his own, he sounds dumber than a box of rocks.

This guy is a fictional creation of some very slick handlers.
- Mike, Concord

A couple of shameless hacks. Just remember that when they rip into your wallet over the next 4 yrs. Ask our friends down south how Mr. Coupe Deval is doing in Mass. He is Obama light. The only thing he has changed is his socks and his bank account with a book deal, no tax relief as promised. He isn't even on the radar.
- KD, Merrimack

These 2 are shameless. What a sorry state for our country. PLEASE go AWAY
- Mike, Auburn

Yes, thank, we finally, need to have change to the White House - to bring president Obama for a hero of america after long lasts. Come to NH, come and show us your way. NH stand with Obama or else die of plage.
- Ahmit, Nashua, NH

Don't worry, Trish, we won't miss you. I'm sure that Barack and HRC will be heart-broken that deadheads like you can't make the event.

Why don't you take Casey Johnes and Ryan Feltner with you? Maybe you can find a fourth for bridge to while away the time.
- A, Manchester

New hampshire is live free or die country. Not mccwar for a hundred years country and not Obama's socialist reform country.

New hampshire will not be voting for any one in the 2 party police state if i can help it. Go ahead and delete this moderater you know you cant stand the truth.
- matthew, manchester

Wait a minute! Isn't the current President considered to be one of the most dishonest politicians ? And he was reelected in 2004. And Nixon wasn't that long ago. Was Bill Clinton known for his honesty ? When you go overboard in criticism your point is lost.
- Tina Alward, Redmond Oregon

Lighten up, folks. Yes, it's true that the town of Unity is being used for its name. They will have terrible and temporary traffic jams, but pretty soon, they will go away, leaving their money behind.

Besides, if HRC had conducted herself as a person in her position should, Unity would not be exploited for its name. If you're going to blame somebody, blame her poor sportsmanship.

Your other option is to enjoy the spectacle, and tell the story, over and over again. It'll be okay.

I feel bad for Unity, NH. The town is being used solely for its name as an attempt to make a phony statement that Hillary and Obama are unified. Go on Youtube and look at the horrible things that Obama's wife said about Hillary during the primary. She actually said that "someone who can't run their own household can't run the White House." Does that really sound like a comment that could ever truly be forgiven? I think not. It is a complete political stunt and I hope NH voters aren't going to fall for it.

There is nothing true about Obama. He is the most dishonest politician to run for the presidency in a long time, but I guess what can be expected from a Chicago politician MADE by the mobster mayor Dailey himself.

Would someone let me know when this man is leaving NH again? I'll be leaving the state for a day just to be as far away from Obama as humanly possible.

Ugh, good grief. Obama, get out of our state and take Hillary with you now that she supports you. You are the most inexperienced person to ever run for the White House and to tell you the truth, will all of your profound experience in the US so far, I am totally amazed that you even know where NH is.

New Hampshire is John McCain country!
