This would be rather comical were it not for the fact that a plainly biased part of the federal government's judicial branch is blatantly shopping for a grand jury that will present an indictment to its liking. They had no luck in New Hampshire. Now the apparatchicks are shopping for interstate favor in Maine.

Further, accusing someone of lying to the FBI is patently ridiculous in light of that part of the U.S. Justice Department's history. Their most infamous agent,
Robert Haansen worked for the KGB longer than he did for the FBI. His wife
collects half of his "pension" for his career efforts to this day. The enemies
of the U.S. Constitution have systematically accused the FBI of treason. Now they ironically use the FBI to further their attack upon liberty.

It seems as though President Bush did not fire enough U.S. Attorneys. He should have fired all of them out of hand, without cause, just as President Clinton did.
It's his right as President.

It's all a fool hardy exercise by political apparatchiks in one party in a paper
brawl with another party. Few and more likely none of them have ever stuck their
necks out in the business on the field of battle. If any of the principals did
serve in the military, then it was most likely as a petty fogging lawyer. See Kafka for details.

The U.S. justice system has nothing to do with justice. It's simply a collection
of scum bags with law degrees who apparently wish to incite civil war. That is
not an understatement. The fundamental problem the "parties" enjoy is that they
cannot stop the insanity once they push those they lord over into the abyss. It
will not be pretty.

Their stupid, absurd legal arguments will not help them either. They will have
to rely on the tough men, the infantry in the end. If they are quite lucky, they
may avoid a bloodbath. I'm not optimistic knowing personally how they and we
operate. The worst part is that they do not care and we in the infantry do care.

They are collectively paper pushers and not soldiers. They are an embarrassment.

I wonder what those souls who defended our U.S. Constitution, our liberty, our lives and who currently reside in graves around the planet might have to say about it.

It's like the Martha Stewart deal all over -- he lied about something that wasn't really a crime to begin with. But keep in mind, Martha still ended up doing time for that.

I suppose this article is newsworthy, thouh perhaps not for the reasons the Union Leader seems to think. More than anything, it is an example of the justice system having gone astray and blood thirsty prosecutors trying their best to boost their professional record and take down someone they have a vendetta against.

They have had Tobin's statements for years now, and you can bet they have reviewed every bit of the record over and over and over. It is not as if they just noticed these statements all of a sudden. So why bring the charges now? The timing of this indictment is questionable for two reasons:

1) The statute of limitations runs out this week for Tobin. The prosecutors obviously saw that they were not going to win their appeals on his first acquittal, and they wanted to get him on something else.

2) There is a major election approaching and New Hampshire is a key state in the Senate race and Presidential race. What better time to bring new charges to fill up the news pages?

It is pretty easy to make Republicans look bad lately, and do we really need to conjur up indictments to do so? I can't help but question the prosecutions motives here; there is no real good reason for this absurd persistence.

As for the end of this story, is iit really that remarkable that high ranking political official would be in touch with his parties' political affairs office in the days leading up to an election. This is more crap planted by those trying to sway this election
