Police: Man tries to swallow evidence

A 40-year-old city resident is accused of having a prescription narcotic and other pills in his car and scuffling with police when they tried to arrest him on the West Side on Thursday night.

this article makes it sound it like he was convicted of being a sex offender in 2006; it could've been written a bit more clearly. He may not have reported his address as required, he may have been in default of his child support; but what should be clearer, because of the hightened awareness over the more recent years, is the age of this person at the time he began carrying the label of sex offender. Furthermore, that conviction is close to 20 years old and nothing between '89 and '06? 20 years old with a 20 year old conviction sensentionalized. What is current is clearly wrong, and should be the focus of this report.
