Do you know how many cases are unsolved in the Attorney's office? Hundreds! They have everything from theft to murder! Please, please use my tax dollars to put away 'dangerous' criminals that are stealing from our homes, molesting our children, etc. This should be at the bottom of the barrel not 'top news'. I agree, it's time for a NEW county attorney.

Yep, it is pretty sad.
False swearing is about the only real charge they could have tapped this clown with. But remember that really, it comes down to what is in the community’s best interest. That community includes Mr. Dodds' family. Did this guy do something stupid? No question. Did he do something where causing him and his family to incur massive legal costs, and also cost tax payers a hefty price tag would be appropriate? Heck no.
There is a scale in cases like this. It's the prosecutions responsibility to look at which way they're tipping. In the end, Mr. Dodds has paid, and will continue to pay a high cost for this transgression.

Always thought he was trying to hide a DUI or something like that. Glad they are pursuing it. The irony is, he would have fit right in with some of the other nonsensical behavior and denials going on down on Capital Hill.

Mike from Rye, you clearly can't be paying too much attention to politics since the County Attorney is in fact a she.

This is just silly all around. That includes; both sides, some of the media coverage (though this article was well done).

What's ironic, at least to me, is that if the state's theory is correct, and Dodd really did this as some sort of publicity stunt, to me, it backfired. I remember thinking when it happened that this guy didn't sound stable enough to serve in office, and no way was I going to vote for him.

Dodd pulls half of a Chappaquiddick. He crashes his car, leaves the scene, does the backstroke across the Bellamy River, and has a mysterious memory loss. All that's missing is the dead blonde. Campaign money dicrepencies? Shocking behavior from this Democrat! Have the investigators checked his freezer yet? Just imagine if this fool had been elected, he makes Shea-Porter look like a rocket scientist. I hope he ends up paying full restitution for all the emergency resources spent on his hoax that other real emegencies may have needed available.

I guess if you commit a crime, waste thousands of dollars, resources and people to create a fale claim it is not really a crime. This whole "accident" stinks. I am glead they are going after this guy. It wasn't like he crashed in some remote location, he crashed on the highway. There were numerous people, K9, thermal imagin units ect. He is found 24 hours later under some leaves close to the scene. Give me a break, he left the scene and then came back later and put himself there. It is a good thing the County Attorney is doing his job!!!!

Who cares? I care. This clown tied up emergency services that day for no reason. That put other people at risk and he should be prosectued for that crime.
- Mike, Bow
Who cares? I hope the county Attorney's office has solved all the other cases on their books. This is a joke; leave the guy alone and move on. Stop wasting our tax dollars on this investigation and prosecution. Is anyone really going to be safer by putting Dodds in Jail or something? Give me a break! Its time for a new county attorney.
