Coming from someone who was at the race and in the rain....there was no way to restart this race. The rain just kept coming...every time we thought it was going to stop...it started getting heavier.
They waited through almost an hour of rain before making the call to end the race. And even if the rain had quit at that point....it's going to take another hour to get the track completely dry to start running on again. And then by the time they got the track dry...it would have been raining again.
To begrudge Joey this win isn't fair. Just because your favorite driver didn't win the race doesn't mean it's ok to bash the person who did. And if it had been your favorite driver who won...you would be saying "well a win is win...we'll take them however we can get them!" So Joey and his team took the win the it came!
Congrats to Joey and his whole team! You over came some obstacles and struggles at that start of the race but you came back in fast track fashion!!

Yesterday was the first time I attended a race at Loudon and it was great. I bought the $39 race ticket and now I'm hooked. I already bought tix for Sept. As a first-timer, I had numerous questions like why they only have one scoreboard showing the top-7 positions? How about upgrading the scoreboard to one on each end of the track and making them taller to show more driver positions? It would have been good if the race broadcast showed up on my scanner too, but that's petty. The big-screen TV's showing race highlights were much appreciated though. Where were the trams after the race or the people who helped park your car to help you get out? That was the only bad aspect of attending the race was getting out of there. Otherwise, it was great. Congrats to Joey L on his first win!

How sad -- people so nasty -- I was thrilled to see Joey win -- lots of talent and maturity to come.....saw him last year in his first race and think he will do very well with the "big boys". You have to start somewhere --didn't everyone ? If one of the veterans had won the rain shortened race, what would be the whining then ?? If they had restarted the race there would be moaning about something else..give it a rest...Congrats Joey and Zippy and all....see you in September !!

How many cup wins do you have Luke? Or any series for that matter.

Isn't it just so funny that this picture was taken outside and it is no longer raining?
This race could have been restarted, but once again nascar messed up.

Disgusting. Gibbs is out of his mind for putting a child in this ride. He won't be able to handle the inevitable pressure that is now going to be bestwoed upon him.
Even his crew chief thinks he was thrown into this ride.
This win means nothing- he didn't earn it. If anything the trophy should have been given to Zippy since this kid has no clue how to diagnose a race car.
