It should be noted that this remarkable speech was written soley by Barack Obama over the previous few days. This is quite a breath of fresh air from politicians who continuously speak of how they are for this and and against that and can't even find their own words to explain their positions to the citizenry.
- Jeff, Manchester, NH

What's this? A politician telling people what they want to hear. I DON'T believe it! Seriously people, do we expect him to publicly say what he really feels? He's running for election.
- Larry, Manchester

Just what I suspected; the left wing gives him a pass!! This is BS at best and total lies more than likely. Obamas pastor of twenty years believes that the "white man" caused 9-11, started the aids virus and built more prisons just for blacks?? Any one that buys this has total blinders on for the facts.

2008...Nothing more & nothing less.
My gratitude & support Obama.

Sorry, I’m not buying it. Obama simply “disagrees” with statements as heinous as these, but continues a 20 year association with “Reverend” Wright? No way! This is the same-old, same-old: spin and disingenuousness, lies and cover-ups. Some “change”. It’s time for the American people to tell Obama that preaching racial hatred and bigotry is not acceptable, whether the preaching is being done by a white man or a black man.
- Tom, Campton

A lot of credit should go to his speechwriters.
- Sarah, Goffstown

Wow, what a powerful speech. It's not too often you can be inspired by 'reading' a speech and not listening to one, but this one is one of those rarities.
- Mark, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

This is the single greatest speech I have ever read. It will go down in history as a turning point in his campaign and our country's history. I fully support Barack Obama for President.
- Ben, New York City

What continues to disgust me is politicians and "leaders" who continue to say thay are trying to unite by continuing to divide. This is not a black/white/hispanic/etc question. It is a humanity issue where we should focus on our likenesses rather than our differences. "We the people" what to be led by leaders who are uniting the country, not continuing to point out our differences.
