There is also an amount of money "guaranteed" by a school when they put in their bids to the NCAA to host a game. There is a minimum amount to bid. I understand you can bid as much as you want (heck it goes to the NCAA so they'll take the high number) and the high seeds have priority, too.
Hope the UNH-Nova gave is on TV folks. Best way to watch it. Unless they're Number 1 seed again, they'll never be back at High School Cowell Stadium.

While there is much of which to be proud with the UNH Athletic programs, it is obvious that the state is less than forthcoming with its' financial support to these programs. Academics is first and is imbeded in the Wildcat athlete, but shouldn't they be a point of pride for our state. Six trips to the national football playoffs and many other feats that should be rewarded with a combined effort of the university, alumni and state to finally construct a stadium that all enjoy and finally be up there with the peers of the Northeast and not left with a stadium that is at best an average high school football program facility.
I'm sure that the UNH alumni will help lead the way.

Another great performance by UNH by going down south and beating one of the south's top teams.
And another great job by UNH coach Sean McDonnell. It won't be long one of the larger schools start calling him, so we better cherish what we have.

Of course the announcers were "homers". That feed was from the McNeese State website. I thought that one of the announcers was very football savvy, and in spite of the fact that he was rooting for McNeese State, he gave some very intelligent commentary on the game.

One would wonder if there is a conspiracy against UNH? Perhaps the other best 3 teams in the country would be their possible path to the national championship and ALL on the road. (Villanova, William and Mary, Richmond or Montana.
- Greg Barrett, Manchester
Once again, UNH is proving itself as an absolutely well-coached, well-disciplined, perennial power house in D-1AA football.
Regarding the facilities at Cowell, since the State is never going to fund this, nor do I suspect the majority of NH taxpayers would go along with it, the UNH Alumni Association needs to announce a strategic campaign, of which one of the major pillars would be the construction of a 15000-to-20000-seat facility of which we can, finally, all be proud. The Field House and Cowell Stadium are both no longer suitable for the level of prominence this program has achieved. The time is now. We have reached a strategic milestone.
Until then, we will continue to lose home field advantage during post-season play, and perhaps lose more talented recruits who are attracted to bigger market schools, particularly those non-PA-NJ-NY recruits whose HIGH SCHOOL facilities are maybe four-to-five times larger than our very own
I, for one, am ready to help in this effort. Are any of you?

The NCAA FCS Division rules are very specific (as I understand them) regarding the awarding of home/away games for the playoffs. The #1 and #2 seeds are guaranteed home games all the way to the championship game. As The #2 seed, Villanova gets the game.
This is the same situation UNH has been in during the last decade on two (?) occasions, when we were a #1 or #2 seed. If we had advanced, the games would have been in Durham. If UNH wins Saturday, and William/Mary upsest Southern Illinois, then the Dec. 11 or 12 game might be in Durham. Better call Musco (the portable stadium light people) quick!

Congrats UNH football team.

What a pathetic bunch of announcers on the McNeese State live video stream.
I never heard announcers refer to their home team as "we" and "our" as much as those two did. They even accused UNH of running up the score early in the 4th and then retracted it when they realized it was the right play call for New Hampshire.
Anyway, solid performance in all three phases.
- Patrick, Nashua
make that didn't get a home game against a team that they beat head to head during the regular season...
- Paul, Londonderry
so they go down and whip a team in deep south and yet as usual they didnt get a home playoff game?...give me a break...anyways, great job by a great program
