It hasn't been easy finding a successor to fill Bill Farrand's well-worn shoes, but the folks at Clark's Trading Post are trying.

Tim Timber was the best!

You will be missed Wolfman!
I remember going there as kid, about 8 years old, I went back last year at 28 and the place has not changed a bit. That is why I love it. When the rest of the state is changing, and Manchester becomes a soulless armpit of the state, it is good to know that Clarks is still there.
- Aaron, Concord
Clark's is the best and when you go you have to go on the train to see Wolf Man. I remember my Memea bringing us there when we were little and I brought my kids there when they were little. We still stop by there at least once a year and they are now teenagers. It's just one of those places that you have to go to. I hope the new Wolf Man is as good sa the current one.
- Stacy, Manchester
John in Plymouth:
Wow, I can't imagine how Clark's has stayed in business, given your scathing review.
It's little kid entertainment. If you are looking for adult fun, go to Vegas. Clark's is perfect as it is. My little ones look forward to it every year.
- Mark, Bedford
Billy, "Wolfy" is my uncle and a truly unique and kind-hearted individual. His life was being the wolfman and it made him happier than anything in the world. It's sad to see him give it up, but he will always be known as the the wolfman.
- Brendan Farrand, Westford, MA
Clark's is lame and in need of some fresh ideas abd attractions. No loss now with the wolf creatureletsmove forward and make Clark's better or close the place down as its dated, boring and needs some fresh changes. Who really goes back more than once....Spruce the place up and make people want to go back every year.
- John, Plymouth
I remember my first encounter with the wolfman. Probably about 7 and nearly crapped myself. I guess I'm getting old, but that dude was crazy. I must have seen the guy that preceded the one retiring. Not only was it more than 15 years ago, but that guy didn't back off if you were scared!
Danny of Bedford:
You take your kids on a train ride through the woods (oh, how we loved trains!), only to be pursued by a guy in a makeshift rust boxcar shooting at you and holding up the train. I'm starting to wonder if I pissed my parents off that day and that was reciprocity for them. You should check it out some time.

L. Harwood, Manchester -
That was funny, it did get a chuckle from me thinking of everyone lining up at the Mall of NH for interviews in Lincoln.
I must disagree with all who have been complaining that the job fair wasn't a success. Over 10,000 people DID get into the fair and all the participating employers left with ample resumes. Isn't THAT the purpose of a job fair? The fairs do not guarentee a job to all that show up. It's an unfortunate sign of the times that so many more people had to be turned away - including my own daughter.
- Kitty, Manchester, NH
That's a real guy?, No way!I thought it was all animated like at Disney. Cool.
Oh, and James that was real mean the way you verbally lashed out at Danny, Bedford. Shame on you
- Cindy, Portsmouth
Bill and I go back a long way. To know Bill is to love Bill. He also does one heck of a Santa Claus, And I've seen him do a pretty good Easter Bunny Also.
- Ernest, Groveton
So let me guess L. Harwood from Manchester, you didn't get a job? what happened? You not get in? Too many people? Not enough buses? Try doing something on your own instead of relying on others.
- Dave, Franklin
The wolf man is classic. I hope they find someone soon.
- John S., Hooksett
Clarks Trading Post has always been our favorite place to visit on our annual NH vacation. Wolfman has scared the heck out of our kids, and now our grandchildren. Hope the replacement is as good as Bill. He will have a big role to fulfill!!!!!!
- Don McL, Campbellford Ont, Canada
Hey Daniel - I hear what you are saying! I could possibly manage the armpit hair and the "eschewing of soap" -I am however having trouble with the logistics of growing a beard and that outfit looks like I may have a "wardrobe malfuntion" or two!
Darnit
Maybe if they ever take the character from being an isolated soul and create a Mrs. Wolfman I'll have a shot :-(
- Catherine, Manchester, NH
ATTENTION Job Seekers: Interviews for the Wolfman position will be held this Thursday. Please park at the Mall of N.H. parking lot. Buses will be provided by WMUR to take you to Lincoln, N.H starting at 9:30AM. The last bus will leave at 3PM. Be sure to Dress-for-Success, and have resume's ready, (even though you will be told at the interview to submit your resume via the website). Good Luck! We'll be sure to boast on our news programs for days on end how successful this job fair will have been.
- L. Harwood, Manchester
James from Machester,
In between divorces and rehab over the last several years, I guess I failed to notice the Wolf. Sorry I made you irritated such that you felt the need to lash out at me like that. You know contrary to what you may think, I didn't imply that to be newsworthy, I would have to have prior knowledge. Geez, are you related to him or something? You got awfully mad as if your feelings were hurt because one person hadn't heard of him before.
- Danny, Bedford
The Wolfman is an absolute legend! My kids love riding the train and watching him chase us in that old car. He's corny, tacky, filthy and absolutely great. He's every bit as much a part of the White Mountain attractions as Clark's Bears, StoryLand or anything else. I never met you Bill, but thanks for all the fun you've provided the kids over the years.
Now "Scram, you old goat!"
- Mark, Bedford
He was awesome, scared the heck out of my son the first time we saw him. thanks for the fond memories.
- MIke, Auburn
Catherine from Manchester,
Not sure if you would qualify. If one reads the fine print, armpit hair needs to be 2 1/2 inches long and beard hair needs to be 6 inches long.
- Daniel, Manchester
Danny in bedford; Obviously it's a big deal since we are commenting and he has an article in the paper about his retirement. Do we need to fill you in on everything historical in NH for it to be qualified? Get out and learn!
- James, manchester
Our teen still remembers the day when she was 2 years old and crawled under the train seat in absolute terror trying to bring the rest of the family with her. She refused to come out until the train stopped.
- Denise, Gilsum
It will be sad not to have Bill as wolfman anymore. I worked at Clark's for 2 summers while in high school. Bill is truly a unique person and it will be very hard to replace him.
I go to Clark's at least twice a year to visit old friends and have fun. You can never go to many times...
- Maria Shortt, Danbury NH
Can I audition? - I'd love to race around in that rickety old car and shoot at the train!
- Catherine, Manchester, NH
I went to school with Bill Farrand. He acted the same way, way back in the day. Sorry to see him giving it up. Hope you are feeling better Bill.
- Olive, Berlin
In all the years I have lived in this wonderful State and visited the north country, I can honestly say that I have never heard of this guy. Yes, I have heard of the bears, but not the Wolf. So I have to ask you, what's the big deal?
- Danny, Bedford
The "Woofman", as my son called him, is talked about during holidays at our dinner table. Our son will never forget the first time he met the "woofman", scared out of his wits. LOL. My now young adult son is very happy he is retiring! Maybe the embarassing stories will cease for him? I doubt it!
The Wolfman is the best. If the new guy (or girl) is half as good, everything will be fine.
- Tom Donovan, Hooksett
I really never did see the attraction to that Wolfman thing up there at Clarks. And to be quite honest, last time I was up there on a hot summer day that gentleman playing the wolf man really did stink. Worst then the Bears
- Francis, Francistown
"Wolfie" is always the first thing I think of when I think of Clark's. The new one will have some big sandles to fill.
- Laurie, Northwood, NH
