Harrisburg pins loss on Fisher Cats
The Harrisburg Senators erupted for six third-inning runs and pinned a 10-8 defeat on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in Eastern League play Wednesday in Pennsylvania.
Despite the loss to the Western Division’s leading team, New Hampshire still is the front runner in the Eastern Division with a 34-18 record.
The Fisher Cats led 3-2 prior to the Harrisburg burst which was fueled by consecutive hits by Steve Lombardozzi, Josh Johnson, Chris Rahl, Tyler Moore, Derek Norris and Bill Rhinehart (triple).
New Hampshire pitcher Chad Beck was tagged with his first loss of the season and his record fell to 5-1 while his ERA ballooned to 3.90. Frank Gailey and Mike Hinckley also saw time on the Fisher Cats hill.
The Fisher Cats rallied for single tallies in the fourth and sixth innings before plating three in the eighth behind a John Tolisano home run.
Mark Sobolewski had three hits in three trips for New Hampshire while Darin Mastroianni and Travis d’Arnaud had two apiece. d’Arnaud hit his fifth home run of the season, and Anthony Gose also hit a four-bagger.
Erik Arnesen worked five innings and was credited with the win for Harrisburg. He is 3-0.
