Still few answers in death of Hudson 7-month-old boy
HUDSON - Police are still not saying how a 7-month-old baby died Tuesday afternoon at a Tiger Road residence.
Authorities are investigating the infant boy's death, which at this point is classified as "untimely," according to Police Chief Jason Lavoie.
The circumstances leading up to the baby's death have not been released, but police say a neighbor attempted to perform CPR on the child Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters and police were called to the residence at 3B Tiger Road around 1:40 p.m.
When asked whether the child was already dead when paramedics arrived, Lavoie said, "That is what we believe."
Lavoie is withholding the name of the child and his family members. He would not comment on whether the child lived at the Tiger Road residence, or whether his parents currently reside there.
It is still not known whether the boy had any visible injuries when emergency crews arrived at the house on Tuesday.
"That is all part of the investigation," said Lavoie, who was tight-lipped about the case.
The state medical examiner's office conducted an autopsy on the 7-month-old baby on Wednesday, however the initial report had not yet been completed by late Thursday, according to Lavoie.
A shirtless man who left the residence where the boy died yelled profanities at the media Wednesday, threatening to run reporters over with his vehicle. No one else at the home would comment on the child's death.
Neighbors say they are saddened and distraught about the tragedy, and still have many unanswered questions.
The investigation is being handled jointly by the Hudson police, New Hampshire Attorney General's Office and the Hillsborough County Attorney's Office. A state prosecutor has not yet been assigned to the case as of yesterday, said Lavoie.
Police said no further information about the baby's death would be released until the autopsy and toxicology results were completed.
