Wayne MacDonald welcomes candidates, doesn't mention Nevada boycott

New Hampshire Republican Party Chairman Wayne MacDonald just issued this letter welcoming N.H. primary candidates. Notice that it nowhere asks for, or even mentions, a Nevada boycott.

"To the next President of the United States:

"Today marks the opening of the filing period to appear on the New Hampshire Primary ballot as a candidate for the office of President of the United States. Embedded in our state’s rich history, this is the formal start of the first n the Nation Primary and a Republican process to determine our party’s nominee to challenge Barack Obama for the White House.

"Over the course of the next couple of weeks, individuals from all over our country, each with their own vision of America, will come to New Hampshire to share their ideas and ask for our vote. These candidates do so knowing New Hampshire is the best State in the nation to engage voters and receive national attention.

"I welcome all of you to our great State and implore each of you to make the most of every moment. The rich history of our First in the Nation Primary has seen front runners stumble and lesser known candidates rise in prominence. Some have become Presidents and Vice Presidents while others have become ambassadors, authors and talk show hosts.

"Regardless of the outcome, each of you have a tremendous opportunity before you. My only request is that you take a moment to recognize the unique qualities of our State that make it the ideal place to campaign and meet voters. In doing so, I know you will leave New Hampshire convinced we should retain our First in the Nation status not just in this cycle but in each Presidential Election that follows.

"Every four years other states try to move their primaries to challenge our First in the Nation status but what they do not understand is that we have earned this right through an electorate that is engaged and takes their responsibility seriously. Our voters expect those who seek our nation’s highest office to look them in the eye and answer their questions. A firm handshake and honest answers go much further to get you votes than slick ads and glossy mailers.

"I know you will enjoy campaigning in New Hampshire, as it is an experience like no other. I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail and thank you for your continued support of our Primary.

" Sincerely,

"Wayne MacDonald"
