D.C. United striker and Manchester native Charlie Davies is suing a Washington nightclub and Red Bull North America for $20 million according to a report in The Washington Post.

The suit alleges that the Shadow Room nightclub continued to serve alcohol to a woman who caused the car accident that resulted in injuries to Davies and the death of another passenger on Oct. 12, 2009.

Davies suffered a ruptured bladder, bleeding on the brain and multiple fractures in the crash, which occurred two nights before the U.S. national team was scheduled to play a World Cup qualifier. The injuries severely set back Davies’ career.
