At campaign stop, Perry flubs voting age, election date
GOFFSTOWN - Republican Presidential candidate and Texas Gov. Rick Perry made his latest gaffes Tuesday during a town hall meeting at the Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College, where he implied that the voting age was 21 and got the wrong date for the general election.
"Those of you that will be 21 by Nov. 12, I ask for your support and your vote," he said. "Those of you who won't be, just work hard."
The voting age in the United States is 18, not 21, and the general election will be held Nov. 6. The first-in-the-nation primary election will be held in New Hampshire on Jan. 10.
