Theft of $180 sunglasses has police asking public's help

December 28. 2011 9:42PM
CONCORD - Police are asking helping in solving a recent strong-arm robbery - the swiping of a pair of $180 sunglasses from a customer who was standing in line at the Steeplegate Mall food court.

The robbery took place just before 7 p.m. on Dec. 19, police said. The customer was waiting in line at the Burger King when a man in his late teens pushed the victim from behind and grabbed the sunglasses from the top of his head.

The sunglasses are black, Oakley brand with orange-tinted lenses.

The thief fled on food, and the victim chased him through the mall and Sears. The thief eventually exited Sears and fled to a wooded area beside the mall.

Police said the thief wore a white striped hat and dark-colored coat.

Anyone with information about the matter should contact the Concord Regional Crimeline at 226-3100.
