Guinta to make decision on endorsement Sunday morning
First District U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta told me tonight that he has decided against two of the remaining Republican presidential candidates and will make a "final decision" on a presidential primary endorsement after Sunday morning's NBC/Facebook/New Hampshire Union Leader debate.
"I'm going to go to the debate tomorrow and then I'll make a final decision," he said.
Guinta said he has ruled out Rick Perry and Jon Huntsman. Asked if it was down to Romney, Gingrich or Santorum, he said those are the three candidates who could make a strong conservative case against President obama and be an effective Republican nominee.
He said he has not decided whether he will endorse, but he seemed inclined to do so. Guinta endorsed Rudy Giuliani in 2008, and tonight he joked that, seeing how Giuliani did in that primary, maybe his endorsement isn't worth that much.
