The for-profit Cancer Treatment Centers of America is considering a location along the Interstate 93 corridor in Southern New Hampshire, a move its spokesman claims would create 500 jobs and millions in economic activity.

House Speaker William O'Brien, R-Mont Vernon, is co-sponsoring House Bill 1642, which would allow CTCA and other “destination” cancer hospitals to circumvent the Department of Health and Human Services' Certificate of Need process. The bill is scheduled for a hearing on Feb. 7.
