ENFIELD - A Lebanon man, who police said headed a marijuana ring that grossed at least $500,000 a year, was arrested Thursday night, after a three-month investigation by local and federal authorities.

Jeffrey Dauphin, 35, of 183 Sunset Rock Road, was arrested and charged with sale of a controlled drug.

Investigators seized more than six pounds of high grade marijuana, along with 148 plants - both baby and mature - with a total street value of more than $460,000 from Dauphin’s home, according to Enfield Police Chief Richard A. Crate Jr.

Police also seized $24,000 in cash.

Investigators searched four homes, including Dauphin’s where investigators found a sophisticated grow operation in the basement, according to Crate. The marijuana was grown in the basement outfitted with lights and fans, and sectioned off by plastic dividers, with mature plants ready to harvest on one side and new plants on the other.

Crate said Dauphin was in the business of growing and selling marijuana, something investigators believe he was doing for at least five years

The investigation, conducted by Enfield and Lebanon police along with the DEA, is continuing and more arrests are expected, authorities said.
