Mass. man killed in Milan snowmobile accident
MILAN - A Massachusetts man is dead after he lost control of a snowmobile Wednesday night and struck several trees, according to Fish and Game.
Kenneth Smalley, 51, of North Billerica, Mass., had been riding on trail 109 near Hager Road, said Fish and Game Sgt. Wayne Saunders, and was the last rider in a group of four.
At about 10 p.m., "The third rider had noticed the lights of Smalley snow machine in some odd angles in his rear view mirror," Saunders said, and that man turned around to investigate along with the others in his party.
The group contacted emergency personnel, and a dispatcher gave instructions on CPR, but due to extensive injuries, Smalley died at the scene, Saunders said.
The investigation is continuing, he said, but "there is not any obvious contributing factors" to the accident.
