CONCORD — A Loudon man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after his vehicle hit a marked state police cruiser on I-393 Thursday night.

Robert Bryson, 39, failed a field sobriety test after the crash, which happened at 10:16 p.m., according to state police.

Trooper Stan Dombrowski was parked in the breakdown lane monitoring eastbound traffic with radar when he clocked a speeding vehicle in the right travel lane, the release stated. As the vehicle neared the parked cruiser, it crossed the white line, entered the breakdown lane, crossed the rumble strips and struck the rear driver's side of the cruiser.

No one was hurt; the cruiser sustained damage to the rear bumper, driver's side quarter-panel and tail light assembly.

Bryson was also charged with failure to stay within marked lanes.
