State Rep. Jim Powers dies

PORTSMOUTH - New Hampshire State Rep. Jim Powers, 73, died peacefully in his home this morning, surrounded by family, after being diagnosed just a few months ago with a rare form of cancer.

Glenn Powers confirmed his father's passing on Wednesday afternoon and said services are scheduled for Sunday at the South Church in Portsmouth.
