Snowstorm to blanket Southern NH

Better late than never.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a winter storm watch from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon when snow is expected to blanket southern New Hampshire. Forecasts are calling for 4 to 8 inches.

The heaviest snowfall is forecast for late Wednesday night into Thursday morning, according to NWS. The snow will be fairly dry but because of poor visibility at times, it could result in a slippery commute for motorists Wednesday evening.

NWS issues a winter storm watch when there is a potential of six or more inches of snow falling in a 12-hour period, or eight or more inches in a 24-hour period.
