Organic Egg Farm Establishes New Pecking Order
The move to developing a socially and environmentally responsible egg farm wasn't easy for Pete & Gerry's, which has been in the egg game since the late1800s. It was, however, their only hope for survival. When, in the 1990s, new technology allowed larger farms to ramp up production on regular farm-fresh eggs at a rapid pace, Pete & Gerry's was almost left behind. Instead, the company decided to evolve into an organic and natural company. Two decades later, the company sells more than 180 million organic eggs a year.

The annual average pay for Michigan surgeons is $251,060, according to newly released figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. New Hampshire is a close second, with its surgeons earning an average of $250,320 per year.

The real challenge comes from NH-based GT Advanced Technologies (GTAT), according to NDP Solarbuzz, which also has the largest order backlog within the sector. GTAT said in February 2012 that its recent new orders had pushed its order backlog to US$2.2 billion.
