NETRC Accepts 100th Retired Racehorse
The New England Thoroughbred Retirement Center (NETRC) in Deerfield, N.H., has announced the arrival of its 100th retired racehorse, Alex's Hope. A five-year-old Thoroughbred gelding, standing 17 hands tall, Alex's Hope last raced at Penn National Racecourse in Grantville, Pa., on January 12. He is by the 2002 stallion Afleet Alex and out of the Slew o' Gold mare Vikki Slew. Alex's Hope retired after only nine starts as a maiden in 2011 and 2012.

MetroWest Daily News: Mass legislator favors revenue sharing with NH rather than duplicate tolls at borders
Southborough Planning Board member Kathleen Bartolini asked about how realistic is the idea of adding tolls on Interstate 93 near the New Hampshire border. State Rep. Carolyn Dykema, D-Holliston, said that idea has been discussed many times. If New Hampshire puts tolls on its side of the border, Massachusets officials should look at a revenue sharing agreement rather than building a second tollbooth, she said.
