Trailer with youth football program's concession supplies stolen
HUDSON — Police are searching for a trailer stolen from the Hudson-Litchfield youth football and cheer program during the past week.
“What’s concerning is that it affects the kids,” said Hudson Police Capt. Bill Avery.
The trailer was taken sometime last week from its spot in a field near the Hudson Memorial School, Avery said. The trailer was visible from the road. A person who knows how to hook up a trailer could have removed the vehicle within a couple of minutes, Avery said.
“They definitely would need a vehicle with a trailer hitch of some sort,” Avery said.
He described the vehicle as a continental-style trailer with pentagram graffiti painted on the side. It had New Hampshire license plate TY2744 on it when it was taken, Avery said.
The trailer is worth about $6,000, Avery said, but it also contained concession supplies and equipment including grills, tents, coffee urns, tables, and paper goods. Much of the league’s fundraising comes from selling refreshments on game day. The trailer also contained a flag, Avery said.
Parents and volunteers put their heart and souls into creating a positive experience for players on the Bears youth team, Avery said. Parents will have to step up again to make up for the loss.
“It puts a damper on things,” Avery said.
The case has been assigned to Hudson Police Detective Division, but they do not have any leads yet, Avery said. Anyone with information about the theft or the trailer’s possible whereabouts should contact Hudson police at 886-6011.
