Milford man charged with attempted murder

DANIEL YEO
MILFORD — After police discovered him allegedly trying to suffocate his wife, Daniel Yeo has been charged with attempted murder.

On Sunday, Milford Area Communications Center received a hang-up 911 call from a home at 95 Amherst St. and officers were dispatched to the residence. Outside the house, according to court documents, they could hear a woman yelling for help and a man yelling that he was going to “[expletive] kill you!”

Two police officers entered the house through an unlocked door and moved towards the living room where they allegedly found Daniel Yeo, 34, sitting astride his wife with his hands on her face and neck. His wife was bleeding, according to court documents, and yelled to the officers that her husband was trying to kill her.

The officers were able to take Yeo into custody, and saw that his wife’s nose was swollen and bleeding, she had red marks around her neck, and her shirt was ripped. She allegedly told police that she and Yeo had a verbal argument that turned physical.

Yeo reportedly hit her in the face, and then suffocated her by “placing his hand over her mouth and nose to the point that she could not breath,” which she told police “is a usual occurrence with Daniel.”

“ … when things get physical between them, Daniel always chokes her,” the court documents said.

Police arrested Yeo, who had scratches and a bite mark on him, and he was charged with attempted murder, a Class A felony, second degree assault and criminal threatening, both Class B felonies, and a misdemeanor charge of simple assault.

Yeo was also charged with stalking because his wife had a protective order against him from June 2011, along with three counts of breach of bail conditions because he assaulted his wife and appeared to be drinking, according to court documents.

In addition to those charges, Yeo is also facing a fugitive from justice charge out of Concord, as well as a bail jumping charge for failing to appear at the 9th Circuit Court Milford District to answer charges of an earlier assault against his wife. He is currently being held at Valley Street Jail on $50,000 cash/corporate surety as well as cash bail on the bail jumping and fugitive from justice warrants. Yeo is due back in court on May 30 at 9 a.m.
