MANCHESTER — The CHaD New Hampshire East-West High School All-Star Football Game presented by the Bedford Ambulatory Surgical Center (BASC) has announced today that the annual Community Service Award will be named in memory of former Trinity High School star athlete and motivational speaker Dan Duval, who died earlier this month age at 54.

With the hopes of honoring the Manchester native who excelled in high school football, baseball and basketball, the CHaD East-West High School All-Star Football executive committee made the unanimous decision to dedicate the annual Community Service Award in honor of Duval's tremendous support of youth athletics and passion for substance abuse awareness.

The Dan Duval Community Service Award will be announced during the inaugural fundraising event's tailgate banquet that will take place on June 22 at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester and will be presented to the all-star player who raises the most donations upon the night of the banquet.

Team East and Team West players have been actively seeking their community's support in their fundraising endeavors through the use of personalized web pages that can be found on the all-star web site at www.CHaDAllStarFootball.org.

All donations raised will support the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock and Kristen's Gift, a restricted fund that supports the pediatric oncology department at CHaD.

“Whether you knew Dan back when he was a star athlete or as one of today's most influential speakers, his story will remain one of inspiration in our community,” said BASC president Nick Vailas, founder of the All-Star Game. He added, “It is a privilege to dedicate this year's Community Service Award in his honor. Danny embodied the core values of this game — philanthropy and being a champion for young people.”

The CHaD East-West High School All-Star Football Game features graduating seniors from across the Granite State in a first-ever intra-state football game to be played at the University of New Hampshire's Cowell Stadium on June 23, at 1 p.m. Tickets to the banquet are $40 per person, tickets to the game start at $10 and both can be purchased at www.CHaDAllStarFootball.org.

To date, more tan $150,000 has been committed in sponsorships in addition to in-kind sponsor, Nike Football.
