Green Your Fleet workshop offers tips
CONCORD — The Granite State Clean Cities Coalition, a program administered by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, will hold its “Green Your Fleet!” workshop on Friday, June 1, at Nashua Community College, 505 Amherst St. in Nashua.
The event provides fleet managers from around the Northeast with an overview of alternative fuels, advanced vehicle technology, and fuel economy strategies.
The workshop will feature panel discussions on the benefits of electric and hybrid electric vehicles, and natural gas as a transportation fuel, as well as exhibits of alternative and advanced technology vehicles.
Lucille Jordan, president of Nashua Community College, will offer welcoming remarks, and Stephen Normandin of Braun's Express will provide the keynote address on his fleet's petroleum reduction initiatives.
The afternoon offers attendees the opportunity to choose among ten breakout sessions on topics such as adding propane vehicles, training mechanics to work on alternative fuel vehicles, biodiesel, ethanol, fleet management software, and on-board idle reduction.
The Granite State Clean Cities Coalition is hosting this event in partnership with the Nashua Community College.
GSCCC consists of over 100 stakeholders who support the goals of reducing dependence on foreign oil through the use of domestically produced, cleaner burning alternative fuels and technologies, and other fuel reduction strategies.
Exhibits and vehicles will be on display in and around the Health, Science and Humanities building. The workshop is free and lunch is provided but attendees must pre-register with Dolores Rebolledo at 271-6751.
