Taste of Milford to feature 20 restaurants
MILFORD — For folks who plan to attend the third annual Taste of Milford, organizer Tracy Hutchins has some simple advice: Buy tickets early and “come hungry.”
Hutchins, director of the Milford Improvement Team, said that the event on June 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. draws hundreds of visitors to town who can walk from restaurant to restaurant to sample the unique menu items served at each place. Restaurants that aren't located around the Milford Oval have partnered with downtown businesses where they will serve their treats on this one special night.
This year, more than 20 local restaurants are participating in the event which raises money for the Milford Improvement Team. The team provides resources for local businesses while working on projects to make the town a great place to visit and shop.
For the last two years, Taste of Milford has sold out well in advance of the event, said Hutchins, and though even more tickets are available this year, Hutchins expects history to repeat itself.
Taste of Milford will include lots of entrees and plenty of desserts and drinks, but there's also live music, a raffle, and opportunities to shop in some of Milford's stores and boutiques. The town hall auditorium, located on the third floor of town hall, will be a hot spot during the event bringing together several restaurants and bakeries, including Carole's Cake Creations, Giorgio's Ristorante, Jade Dragon, Milford Fish Market & Restaurant, and Memphis BBQ & Blues.
Other restaurants that will be serving at their own places or at shops around the Oval are Amigos Mexican Cantine at Souhegan Cycle, Café on the Oval, Chapanga's Griddle & Grill at Sons Chimney, Foodees Gourmet Pizza at The Wireless Zone, The Good Loaf at Hometown Insurance, The Mile Away Restaurant at I Do Again, Papa Joe's Humble Pie at Lisa's Sweets, The Pasta Loft at The Frame Depot, The Red Arrow Diner at the Constable Agency, The River House Café, The Rustic Leaf Bistro at the Garden Party Floral Shop, Tiebreakers at Hampshire Hills at B & D Bagles, The Trombly Farm at the Stocked Fridge, The Union Street Grill, Windows on West Street at the Household of Faith, and the Yankee Chef at Steele Associates.
Tickets are $25 per person if purchased by May 31 and $30 the day of the event.
