Fire destroys building at Paugus Bay Marina
LACONIA — A two-alarm fire destroyed a storage building at Paugus Bay Marina on Monday but didn't spread to a nearby building with about 150 boats, authorities said.
“There was heavy fire from a large storage facility on the marina property,” said Laconia fire Lt. Lisa Baldini.
The fire, reported at 2:42 p.m., broke out at the marina at 41 Sheridan St. and destroyed a 50-foot-by-40-foot storage building.
A building “fairly close” to the fire contained about 150 boats. Asked the boats' value, Baldini said: “A lot of money.”
