Fatal accident in Meredith
MEREDITH — An unidentified driver was killed in a traffic accident in Meredith Saturday night, police said.
Police said a 1990 Chevrolet pick-up truck was traveling on Chemung Road when it went off the shoulder on the westbound side of the road, side-swiped several small trees and crashed head-on into a large tree near Loon Point Road.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator's identity was not released pending notification of family members.
