Summer is almost here, and so is Kidz Night Out
DERRY — Bring on the summer.
The Parks and Recreation Department is hosting Kidz Night Out at MacGregor Park on Wednesday, June 20, from 5 to 8 p.m.
There will be inflatable moon jumps from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and a life-sized version of Candyland from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Children’s musician Rick Charette will entertain the crowd at 6:30 p.m. with his versions of “I Love Mud,” “Yellow Bus,” and other favorites. There will also be an opportunity to meet Charette after his performance.
Pizza, popcorn, cotton candy and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the night, and moon bounce and food tickets can be bought at the event for $1 each or six for $5.
June 20 is also the official kickoff date for the summer farmers market in the Derry Municipal Center parking lot. The market takes place from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays from June 20 through Sept. 26.
The market will feature more than 20 vendors offering local products such as fresh fruits and vegetables, farm-raised meat, seafood, flowers, chocolate and New Hampshire-made artisan products. In addition to the local vendors, the market typically features entertainment from local musicians. Karen Lincoln will be performing during the June 20 market.
