British Beer Co. to open soon on Manchester's South Willow Street
MANCHESTER — The British Beer Co. plans to open its first New Hampshire pub at 1071 South Willow St., later this week.
The former Chili's restaurant space has undergone a complete renovation, with a mahogany wood and brass bar shipped in from the United Kingdom, stained glass in the upper half of windows and other finishing touches reminiscent of a traditional English pub.
British Beer Co. said it will offer 38 tap lines, 70 bottled and canned beers and a rotating line-up of cask-conditioned ale.
Featured beers will include Fuller's London Porter, a black beer like Guinness, and Fuller's London Pride, brands “you're not going to find anywhere else in this area, so we definitely have a unique selection,” manager Shawn Crowley said.
Cask beers are siphoned, rather than pumped with added carbon dioxide, and are served at 55 to 60 degrees, warmer than American beers, he said.
The British Beer Co. also will offer cocktails, traditional American pub food, wines, free, live entertainment, flaky Pasty Pies, bangers and mash and pizza.
The company plans an official Grand Opening Party June 16 with a live performance by Beatles tribute band Walrus Gumboot.
Live music will be offered on weekends with no cover charge.
The pub will seat about 180, including about 35 at the bar. There will be seven large-screen TVs.
The phone number is 232-0677 and the website is www.britishbeer.com.
British Beer Co. has units in Bristol, R.I., and Cedarville, Falmouth, Framingham, Franklin, Hyannis, Pembroke, Plymouth, Sandwich, Walpole and Westford, Mass.
The Manchester unit is its 12th.
