ANTRIM -- A boy was hurt after he was struck by a car while crossing Main Street at dusk Wednesday.

The boy had just left Town Hall where there had been a performance of a play and apparently walked into the street where he was hit by a car traveling northeast on Main Street, which is also Route 202.

The child, who is about nine or 10 years old, was conscious and talking after the collision, which occurred about 8 p.m., Officer Ryan Storro said. He went by ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough. The boy’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, he said.

Police would not release the name of the boy or the female motorist, citing the ongoing investigation.

Preliminary indications show neither speed, alcohol or drugs appeared to be factors in the collision, Storro said.
