MANCHESTER — At least 35 companies are expected at a job fair next week that will also feature the first Granite State Beacon Award for women who are succeeding in improving opportunities for women.

Hosted by U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta, R-N.H., the Women’s Job Fair is free, and not exclusive to women, the congressman said in a news release. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. next Monday, June 25, at Manchester Community College, 1066 Front St., Manchester.

Guinta’s office said in a news release “all Granite Staters are welcome to attend.”

The Beacon Award will go to two recipients.

“A beacon gives light to others,” Guinta said in the news release. “The Granite State Beacon Award will be given to two New Hampshire women who are actively working to improve and expand opportunities for women, and who also serve as positive role models. This job fair, combined with the presentation of this award, will further enable Granite State women to advance in their careers and encouragement to pursue their dreams.”

It is the sixth job fair Guinta has hosted since June 2011 as part of his ongoing “Getting Granite Staters Back to Work” jobs initiative. A combined total of approximately 1,200 people attended the five previous job fairs held in Derry, Rochester, Manchester, Portsmouth and Conway.
