LONDONDERRY — Are the kids bored and looking for something to do this summer?

The Londonderry Summer Recreation program kicks off early next month, and there’s still plenty of time left to get in on the fun.

This year’s summer day program starts July 10, with programs concluding on August 10.

The programs, for children entering grade one up through age 14, are held daily during the summer months, with the majority of the recreation activities held at the gymnasium and playground at South School.

Activities are held Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m.

Fees are $40 per child for the entire program or $50 for two children. Families of three children or more pay $60. Accommodations can be made for families in financial difficulty.

Daily activities include arts and crafts, games and sports, with a special theme for each day, according to Program Director Art Psaledas. Special guest entertainers will also make appearances.

The children are grouped by age and interest, and are supervised in small groups by experienced staff members. Two field trips are also being planned over the summer at no additional cost for registered children.

Several summer sports programs are also scheduled.

Basketball for girls ages 8 through 13 will be held at Londonderry Middle School on July 9-13.

Basketball for boys ages 6 through 16 will be held at Londonderry High School during the weeks of July 23 and July 30.

Other programs include softball, baseball, tennis, football, soccer, golf, boys’ and girls’ lacrosse, conditioning, volleyball, track and field, and field hockey.
